The committee are trying to prepare for the season and are looking to make a few changes this season.
1. Matt, unfortunately, is unable to continue as Sunday captain, and Giles having spent a lot of time organising the teams for Sundays cannot continue to do this every Sunday. The plan is to rotate the captaincy and responsibility amongst four or five players, we have 3 volunteers from the committee though we would ask for further volunteers to make this viable, please would anyone prepared to do this let one of the committee know. Ollie is happy to continue as Tuesday/midweek captain.
2. We intend to use the Spond app to confirm availability and the team selection.
3. We would like to make the club cashless and use bank transfers/card payments for all transactions. We are asking for advanced payments of match fees prior to the game as well as for club subscriptions to be paid before playing any matches. We have to pay over £400 for insurance alone to cover members whilst paying, which is why we are asking for this. Annual subs are £30 for adults, £15 for Under 18s, Match fees £5 adults, U18 no fee. 4. There will be beer available after matches at the clubhouse for a donation to the club, and there is an intention to have regular BBQs after matches with burgers and sausages. Hopefully this will improve the post-match atmosphere, encourage opposition to stay and raise some more funds for the club.
5. As I have asked above I am keen to improve communications using e mails, long messages like this do not do well on WhatsApp, so please do send an e mail to me at [email protected] and I will add you to the e mail group. SO far have had 3 responses only – thanks to those who have responded.
