As always a brilliant time was had by the JLPT Team at Endure 24. The weather could have been better, but that didn’t dampen the Endure spirit! Friday night was chilli and party night - we really must get fancy dress sorted for next year 🤣 Then Saturday started with the traditional Greenham Common parkrun, then we completed a total of 23 laps between us of the muddy, slippy, hilly 5 mile course over 24 hours. Fantastic performances from everyone. Great company too. Can’t wait to do it all again!!!

Fantastic running last week from Tina Mault, Jody Stockford and Rob Stockford in the first Yateley 10k race. Particularly proud of Tina for running all the way. Looking forward to seeing what they all do in the next one!!
And congratulations to Karen Phillips for placing third in her age category at the Dorney Standard Distance Triathlon on Saturday. A fantastic result in the wind and rain, and proof that all your hard training is definitely paying off, as you train for your Half Ironman!

Shout out to Phoebe Harvey!! Phoebe is absolutely smashing her parkrun times week on week, last Saturday running her fastest time since 2019!! Phoebe hadn’t run a parkrun in years. She’s a very fast walker - I’d definitely have to run every so often to keep up! But running always made her knees painful. Last year, Phoebe decided she wanted to run again. She saw a physio, got some exercises, and actually did them, consistently, several times a week. She started spinning too. And in an our PT sessions we # even more on the issue causing the problem - weak glutes. This is a problem common to many runners! We went heavy (heavy weights) on deadlifts, Sumo deadlifts, Bulgarian Squats, single leg deadlifts, Bosu runners touches, box step ups, squats, and also did lots of bandwork! It’s been painful!! 🤣 But the hard work has paid off, with last weeks run being almost pain free, and fast. And I know she’s just going to get faster and faster. Fantastic result Phoebe, and a testament to what consistent training can do. Mission accomplished 💪🏃‍♀️💪😍

What an inspirational day yesterday!! Not only did we see the incredible spectacle of two men breaking the previously elusive 2 hour barrier for the marathon, with Sawe absolutely smashing the old world record, and Assefa beating her own all-women world record, but I saw inspirational performances from 4 of my favourite JLPTers!

Firstly, the superstar that is Cheraine Hagan completed her second marathon in 6 days! After a sub 4:26 at Boston on Monday she ran an incredible 4:58 at London. So impressive!!!

Wendy Ockrim approached her first marathon with gusto and 100% dedication, following the plan, listening to all the podcasts, and even becoming an ON ambassador along the way! She has impressed everyone with how well her running has progressed, and how she rose to the challenge of marathon training, despite doubting her life choices at times!!

Both Lou Mc and Lucy Stevenson Bass reached the start line against all odds (and probably any sensible advice). But they were both absolutely determined to be there to support their friend on her first ever marathon.

Lou was only given the go- ahead to run about 12 weeks ago after a nasty car accident. So she knuckled down and followed the shortest marathon training plan ever to get herself in a fit state to run. And Lucy battled and endured injury, lots of physio appointments and a considerable amount of pain during training to get herself there. They are both very strong, determined (some would say stubborn) ladies, and definitely not ones to let you down!

And yesterday, despite navigating different start venues and times, and the very warm conditions, they managed to support each other, and finish together!! An absolutely fantastic achievement from all of them!

You are a marathoner now Wendy - that is your superpower! Cheraine you are just an invincible nutter, and Lou and Lucy you are also nutters, and marathon queens!!

We were also thrilled to see Frimley Lodge parkrun Masters legend Koji Miyazaki running super fast, but sadly missed Hayley Willis, who also ran a great time, despite feeling terrible.
Congratulations to everyone running yesterday!!

Another fantastic marathon weekend!! A brilliant run from Rob Stockford at Manchester in 3:47! Not the time he was originally training for, but with an ongoing calf injury that really limited training in the last couple of months, to even get to the start line was a major accomplishment , and testament to his careful management of the situation. And then to achieve a sub-4 marathon (by a long way) was brilliant!! Plenty of time for PBs Rob 😉
And then on Monday Cheraine Hagan ran in the iconic Boston Marathon! It’s a tough hilly course, and Cheraine also ran brilliantly finishing in 4:26, and ticking off another of those World Majors!! What an experience! And the superwoman that she is, is running again - six days later - in the London Marathon, raising money for charity. Go Cheraine - we know you will be amazing once again!!
Super proud of you both, and now looking forward to marathon weekend number 3. Go girls Wendy Ockrim, Lou Mc, Lucy Stevenson Bass and Cheraine Hagan - go smash it and enjoy!!

Smiles all the way!! Massive congratulations to Sam Hens completing her second marathon at Brighton yesterday!! I’m so proud of Sam for undertaking this challenge. Her training was heavily impacted by a chest infection, and then in the later stages, Morton’s Neuroma. This painful condition makes it feel like you are running on pebbles 😱 After a couple of very painful long runs, we limited the running. But despite this disruption to her training, and knowing that most of the run would be very painful, Sam was in great spirits on Sunday. And I’m pleased to say she ran brilliantly, and most importantly enjoyed it!! What next Sam?!!

What a great day at Fleet Half Marathon! Always a favourite brilliantly organised and well supported local event, with Judy’s infamous chilli afterwards!
Karen Phillips absolutely smashed it running 1:53, which was 5 minutes faster than Farnborough Half. She ran an expert race, steady in the first half and picking up finishing strong in the second.
Mya Longmuir ran with her friends Hollie and Sophie with the aim of getting Sophie a PB which they absolutely smashed, having lots of fun on the way! We could hear them chatting and laughing for miles!!
Sam Longmuir, Sam Hens and myself all ran at our target marathon paces as we are now in taper zone for Brighton, and all felt strong and comfortable. Although comfortable may not be how Sam would describe it as she is suffering with painful balls of her feet when running, but smashed it even so.
Wendy Ockrim ran a really strong race, joined for part of the run by Lou Mc as they near the end of their London Marathon training, with their last long run next week. Smashing it ladies!!
And shout out to my cousin Jen Tibbenham who ran a superb 1:32 despite her recent and ongoing hamstring injury! A bit like Rob Stockford smashing out his 1:36 at Reading last week despite his calf injury!! Brilliant running!
A great day!!

Shout out also to Wendy Ockrim, Lucy Stevenson Bass, Lou Mc and Sam Hens for their long runs this weekend, also building up to marathons. And thank you to the girls for organising a fantastic evening with Olympic Legends in support of their charity Surrey Care Trust!
Congratulations also to Susan Harvey and Liz Burr for winning both of their tennis matches on Saturday! Smashing result!
