Wow! What a day with Anneka was given a choice of walks and chose the most hardcore one despite the weather, driving rain, winds, zero visibility at times and tricky navigation, what a fab time in the mountains. I’m not often properly tested when leading but I had to have my wits about me today, I loved it!
The last day for Anneka’s walking holiday, dispite the changeable weather we had an amazing time, 4 great walks, some sunshine made appearances, perfect atmospheric views, the experience of walking through thick clouds, some lovely swims and a perfect sense of adventure. What more could you ask for?

Hopefully Anneka will return in the future for more adventures.

Epic day!!!! climbing Beinn Talaidh today and what a day for it, we lost count of how many times we put coats on… took them off and then put them back on again, the day went from freezing rain to scorching hot sunshine and everything in between. The views up on this hill are amazing and this is one of my favourite mountains to climb on the Island.
We tried some influencer selfie pouts (I think I nailed it) we pointed at the top, Anneka brought me POPCORN 🍿!!!! (I love popcorn!) and somehow we managed to chat about absolutely nothing important for 7 hours.
Just one day left on Anneka’s walking holiday after she has a well deserved rest tomorrow.

Stay tuned for the next episode on Thursday.

Day two of walking holiday and what a day it was. All the weathers, freezing wind, rain and sunshine. I must admit I thought there was no chance of a dip but Anneka proved me wrong! I think this should be a new record for dips in the (cold) wind, 3!!! What an achievement (she also now holds the record for most dips by an American as well.
No eagles today but a great adventure nonetheless.

Stay tuned to find out what we get up to tomorrow.

Anneka on a walking holiday from the USA, her first walk was to the emotive abandoned village of Shiaba, changeable weather curtailed any swims but she did bring cake!!! 4 very chatty sea eagles flew past very low and went off for a fishing trip, you rarely hear WTE this time of year so I’ve no idea what they were chatting about, any ideas then please let me know in the comments below.
Anneka ate a tree and didn’t find it too bad, we got rained on several times, we saw some snails and some coos… what more could you want from a walk?
Day 2 tomorrow, let’s hope for better weather… stay tuned to find out if Anneka is brave enough for a wild swim!

This is amazing, a Golden-ringed Dragonfly (Cordulegaster boltonii) just emerging from its larval skin (exuvia). It then dries its wings and hardens its exoskeleton before flying off in search of prey.
Did you know that the Dragonfly is the most successful hunter in the animal kingdom?

Here dragons dwell

Heather and Dorothy from Scotland and Canada respectively (both originally from Scotland) what a day.
Both wore jeans and soon found out why that isn’t the best idea. Luckily for them I didn’t keep (constantly) laughing at them as the water slowly seeped up their legs.
Low cloud and mist to start with, slowly clearing into the afternoon to reveal the views. Dorothy stepped into a bog, I asked her to stand next to the bog for a photo and she fell back in (back a bit, back a bit… that’s it, a bit more…!) and then she escaped and fell in again! It was amazing. Jeans well and truly soaked now, this is how to keep your guide amused 😃
No swims but a fab day nonetheless.

Check out this muppet in action, look at that really cool way I just leave my arm up because I didn’t know what to do with it. Oh, if you’re wondering, I’m eating spruce tips in the rain.
