Before our US Masters Texas Scramble Tour tees off for another season, we’re excited to introduce something brand new for 2026 — a Masters Week of competitive golf events, designed especially for single golfers.

Unfortunately the greens at our golf course were damaged this week. This is not the first time this has happened, but previously it was isolated incidents. This time it was multiple damage on 3 separate greens. The damage occurred sometime in the last week. If anyone knows who caused the damage please speak to a club member. This type of behaviour is not welcome at Benbecula golf club. Please could all members be vigilant in keeping an eye out for anyone behaving in this way.

Winter League Eclectic Competition 2021/22

Congratulations to our President Archie Naylor who pipped long time leaders Thomas Steele and Shaun Brennan to win the Winter League on the final day.

Archie played tremendously under pressure to come from a shot behind to eventually win by 2 after some excellent straight driving and sinking some serious footage of putts.

Commiserations to Thomas and Shaun who both had ambitions of victory considering how long they shared the lead but they could not improve their scores on the day against the juggernaut that was President Naylor.

Well done to all who participated!

Order of Merit 2020

The 14th and final round of the Order of Merit competition was played on Tuesday 01st September 2020 and big congratulations go to the winner Willie John Monk.

This year’s competition was truncated by the delayed start caused by COVID-19 restrictions but that perhaps heightened the drama.

Damie Steele raced to a seemingly unassailable lead in the early weeks of the competition. His form led most of us to believe that a DJ Steele victory was a foregone conclusion.

WJ Monk is made of sterner stuff and never gave up. He took the lead after week 9 and never relinquished his advantage.

The final round still afforded Damie the opportunity to overhaul his fierce rival. A victory would have meant a league win if WJ had finished 3 places behind. However, and fittingly, WJ won on the night and took the overall title by 3 points.

Week 14 Winner: WJ Monk (36 points)
Week 14 Runner-up: Lawrence Walker (33 points)

Order of Merit Runner-up: Damie Steele
