🌿🟢 NEW SEASON – NEW HOBBY? COME AND TRY BOWLS! 🟢🌿
As we head into the new bowls season, we’re excited to welcome everyone to Stone Lodge Bowls Club — and this year we also have our new page where we’ll be posting updates each week about matches, events, and what’s happening at the club 📣📅
Whether you’re completely new, used to play years ago, or just fancy trying something different… bowls is a great way to get outside, meet new people, and have fun in a friendly atmosphere 😊
📍 About us
Stone Lodge Bowls Club is based at Pauls Sports & Social Club, Salmet Close, Ipswich, IP2 9BA (just off Belstead Road, south-west Ipswich).
🚗 Free parking is available in the main Pauls car park right next to the Bowls Club entrance.
Our green is one of the largest in Suffolk and is surrounded by a lovely landscaped garden 🌼
We also have our own clubhouse with changing rooms and toilets.
🏆 A bit of history
Bowls at Stone Lodge goes back to the 1940s, and the current club was formed in the early 1980s when Pauls Bowls Club and Cranfield Bowls Club joined together.
We are affiliated with Bowls England and The English Bowling Federation, and the season runs from April to September.
🎯 Who can play?
Everyone!
We welcome all abilities — from complete beginners to county players.
Bowls is perfect if you want something competitive but gentle, social, and outdoors during the summer months ☀️
📅 What happens at the club?
• League matches on weekday evenings
• Friendly games on some Sundays
• Cup matches & open tournaments
• Coaching available if you’re new
• Lots of social and friendly games
We currently have around 60 members and we’re always happy to welcome new faces of any age 🙌
