Ipswich - East Suffolk Hockey Club is based at Ipswich School Sports Centre, Ipswich, Suffolk. The club consists of 5 Mens teams, 4 Ladies teams and a thriving Junior Section. All teams play in the East Region Hockey Association North East league. IES are always keen to welcome new members. We have teams at all levels so even if you’ve never played before or have years of experience then give us a look. We are friendly club, playing good hockey with the added bonus of a good and active social side. For more information visit the club website. The Club aims to promote a happy and constructive atmosphere both on and off the pitch. We are ambitious to advance to higher levels. The Club places great emphasis on our Youth Coaching programme and policy, as well as supporting the attainment of official qualifications for our coaches and umpires. Indeed, we have been in receipt of considerable grant aid in recent years to help finance these specific objectives. The Club is working towards achievement of Clubs 1st accreditation - the national standard for provision of a safe and high quality environment for bringing young players into the sport. A key aim in general is to bring young players through into adult hockey and expand the opportunities to play by increasing the number of teams competing. Have you played for IES between 1986 and 2026?
Players old and new are welcome to join our big birthday celebrations on Sunday 30 August!

We'll have intraclub matches for current players, a chance for former players to join current players in a mixed hockey IES Allstars game, a BBQ for you to buy delicious burgers or hotdogs, a raffle and a chance to reminisce with team mates about your favourite hockey moments.

❤️🖤 Huge thank you to everyone who supported our Charity Day! ❤️🖤

Whether you donated, volunteered, played, umpired, or simply came along to support, every contribution made a huge difference. 🙌

A special shoutout to Reuben’s in Melton for stepping in at the last minute with the burgers 🍔🔥 They went down an absolute storm! Safe to say I know where I’ll be going for burgers from now on… 🤤

A big thank you as well to Revetts in Wickham Market for keeping us stocked with sausages 🌭 and Martins Bakery for providing the buns 🥖. The BBQ was a massive success… in fact, the only thing left on the grill was the charcoal! 😂

We’d also like to thank Alpha Physiotherapy for joining us and leading our warm-up 💪 It was fantastic to have you with us throughout the day and give you a chance to see what our club is all about.

This was a real community effort, with great people, great hockey and even better food. ❤️🖤

Huge congratulations to Nettie and Wheelie who represented East Over 60s at the Masters Tournament — and only went and became national champions! 🏆🔥

Both of them found the net, both of them brought home gold, and both of them continue to show what passion, commitment and love for the game look like at every level. Absolute inspirations across our club. 🏑
