Medals and Personal Bests Galore

On Saturday 25th April, 17 Orwell Panther athletes represented Suffolk in the first Special Olympics regional competition of the year. They competed against their fellow athletes from Norfolk, Worcestershire, St Albans, Hampshire, East Midlands & Cambridge .

The day was bright, sunny and beautifully warm. Perfect conditions for good competition and amazing results.

Overall the athletes from Orwell Panthers brought home 26 Gold medals, 10 Silvers medals, 11 Bronze Medals and 19 Personal Best's.

An amazing achievement from all concerned, and so early in the season.

First Competition of the Year

This weekend the 25th April see's the Orwell Panthers athletes compete in their first competition of the season.

Seventeen (17) Orwell Panthers athletes will be representing Suffolk at the Bury St Edmunds track competing against other regions from across the UK.

We wish them the best of luck. Go for Gold and Personal Bests (PB's)

Event Report – Lea Valley Indoor Track

Special Olympics GB – Athletics Event

30th November

On 30th November, 14 athletes proudly represented Special Olympics Suffolk at the Lea Valley Indoor Track for the Special Olympics GB Athletics event. Two athletes made their competitive debut, adding an extra sense of excitement to the day.

The team delivered outstanding performances, achieving an impressive 12 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze medals across the various events. In total, eight personal bests were achieved, highlighting the athletes’ continued progress and determination.

The journey home was full of festive cheer, with Christmas tunes playing on the minibus and plenty of enthusiastic sing-alongs, rounding off the day with great team spirit.

Throughout the event, the athletes supported one another brilliantly, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere both on and off the track. Their sportsmanship, determination, and teamwork made the day a memorable success.

A huge well done to all athletes, coaches, and supporters for a fantastic day of competition and achievement.

6 Athlete's from Orwell Panthers Athletics Club went to Birmingham to represent Special Olympics Suffolk at the, S.O City of Birmingham & S.O Worcestershire Athletics Event, They did Suffolk proud and came home with lot's of medals and personnel best performances,
Well-done Amy, Gracie, Alfie, Rhys, Montell and Hamish.

A Fantastic day was had by 5 Special Olympics Suffolk Athlete's at North Staffs & Stafford Regional Athletics Event 2025,
There were New personnel Best times and distances achieved,
It was Hot Sticky and overcast, the coaches and parent's are proud of them all.
