I heard this song a long while ago and it resonated with me so much. This song, “I tell everyone about you” by Sara James, makes me think instantly of my dad. For any of you that may not know, we lost my dad suddenly almost 5 years ago. He was the most amazing man and I am always SO proud to talk about him whenever I can to literally anyone! It’s one part of grief that I honestly like to try and find a bit of joy in because it feels great to be able to talk about someone you love! Like how lucky am I to get to feel that proud when I speak about him?🥰
We spoke in the studio about tapping into our emotions around these lyrics but specifically talked about how sad songs don’t always have to be as black and white as “just sad” . There’s so much joy in this song and its lyrics even though she’s openly discussing grief and it was that feeling that I really wanted us to embrace! The girls listened to me waffle, supported myself and everyone else in the studio and really gave themselves sincerely to this choreo and I am very very grateful to all of them for bringing they did to the space! We took moments to breathe, and moments to smile and laugh. I love every class I teach but this one felt a little extra special🩷
