📣 ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CEO
When I started Whitton Colts Vets, the idea was simple – to break the dominance of Whitton United Vets and Woodbridge Vets and bring more competition to the Veterans League.
We began in Division 1 while they were in the Premier, but in that very first season we made our mark – knocking Whitton out of the League Cup in the first round, beating Ipswich Wanderers (also Premier) in the semi-final, and then going on to beat Woodbridge in the final.
That first year had a real buzz – whether you were in the stands watching or following us on social media, everyone felt that excitement. We made vets football fun again.
Then came Ransomes – the battles everyone remembers. That same season, they beat us in the County Cup final and went on to win the league while we finished second. Truthfully, we never fully recovered from that, and last season we weren’t able to give you the same energy or excitement you’d come to expect from us.
It is with great regret that I announce Whitton Colts Vets will not be participating in the 2025/26 season.
I want to personally thank everyone who has been part of the journey – the backroom staff, management, sponsors, and of course the fans who stood out in the rain week after week to support us. Most importantly, thank you to the players who literally put their bodies on the line on the pitch for this club.
This isn’t the end – just a pause. Who knows what the future holds.
Thank you all.
— CEO, Whitton Colts Vets
