Harlaw Bowling Club
Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
19 March 2020
In light of the Coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic Bowls Scotland have announced that all National and Domestic competitions are cancelled for season 2020, also taking account of the latest government advice regarding events etc which unfortunately now looks like it will impact on our bowling season.
The Committee have decided that given the current circumstances it would be inappropriate to open the bowling season on the scheduled date of 19th April 2020 and we have currently closed the club down until the 31st May 2020.
As such we will not be collecting annual fees on the 16th and 17th April 2020.
We do sincerely hope the situation will improve and we will review the position at the end of May 2020, with a view to perhaps opening at the beginning of June 2020, if circumstances permit, which will hopefully allow us to play some bowls and internal competitions before the season ends.
I know this is bitterly disappointing for the club and the members in our 50th Anniversary year but the health and safety of you all is of paramount importance to the committee.
Should you wish to contact any member of the committee to discuss the situation please do, the committee will issue regular communications on the pandemic situation to keep everyone informed and fully up to date.
In the meantime please follow the advice given by the Scottish government and medical experts and stay safe and well.
The Committee
