A good, clean game tonight at Inverness Ice Centre with the RAF Lossiemouth Jets Ice Hockey Club.

A successful raffle run by Highlands Psychoanalytic Collective - with the top prize - a two night stay in Skye - won by Archy Hislop.

A lot of work went in behind the scenes to make this happen. Special thanks and gratitude to Brian Murdoch at Scottish Ice Hockey for helping and supporting - we appreciate it.

Thank you to Terry Christie for refereeing the game.

The ice is back in Inverness Ice Centre, and the Hurricanes go again.

We're on the ice Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th.

A huge amount of work has gone in, getting the ice hockey markings down, and the ice ready.

We're grateful to Will, James, Graham, Keith and Andrew for their work behind the scenes.

They've worked hard to get it ready - and looking good - thank you!

Inverness Hurricanes Ice Hockey Club hosts fundraiser for new local youth mental health charity, HPC

The first game of the 2026 season will be a special one for the Inverness Hurricanes Ice Hockey Club as they face off against cross-county rivals the RAF Lossiemouth Jets Ice Hockey Club in a charity match to raise funds for a newly established local youth mental health charity, the Highlands Psychoanalytic Collective (HPC).

The two teams will take to the ice on Saturday 25 July at the Inverness Ice Centre at 6:15 pm for a friendly match to fundraise for HPC, a mental health charity that offers psychotherapy and mental health support in the Highlands with a focus on young people aged 14-25.

HPC brings together experience from the NHS, third sector, psychoanalytic practice, and community development, guided by an experienced and committed Board of Directors. Its founders, Sarah Fielding, Tim Moss, and Sam Thomas, began with an informal gathering of mental health professionals in 2023 who wanted to create space for thinking, learning, and developing meaningful clinical services across the Highlands.

Established as a charity in 2025, HPC now provides clinical services.

Sarah Fielding, co-founder of HPC, said:

“The teams are playing to raise awareness of mental health and young people and supporting charity Highlands Psychoanalytic Collective, formerly known as Brent Centre Highlands. HPC offers psychotherapy and mental health support to young people aged 14-25 years in Highlands, and we'd love to see you there.”

The Inverness Hurricanes Committee said:

“Young people’s mental health in the Highlands matters to everyone and we’re delighted to kick off the season with a fun, friendly match to raise funds for HPC. Sport can be such a positive outlet and it’s a natural fit for us as the ethos of the Inverness Hurricanes is having fun, teamwork, positivity and development for players 18 and over. We play our home games at Inverness Ice Centre, also a charity, so it’s a win-win. Everyone is welcome to come along, watch a fun, fast-paced game of hockey, and support HPC.”

Frances Graham, General Manager, Inverness Ice Centre said:

“We are delighted to support the Inverness Hurricanes and the Highlands Psychoanalytic Collective by hosting this charity match. As a registered charity ourselves, Inverness Ice Centre is committed to promoting physical and mental wellbeing through sport, and this event highlights the positive impact that community partnerships can have in raising awareness of important issues affecting young people. We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy an exciting evening of ice hockey, and support this worthwhile local cause.”

The game is open to all and will take place at the Inverness Ice Centre on Saturday 25 July 2026 at 6:15 pm.
