Here we have the AMAZING Marisa!
One of our Tribe loyals who is exactly the type of person you want to have within a group training set up…
Always chatting and making EVERYONE feel welcome.
Here’s a few words from the lady herself…
“Before Tribe, I spent about a year and a half doing home workouts, following Joe Wicks. My goal was to lose my post-baby weight, become a bit healthier, and build some strength.
I have three children and, yes, always chasing after them, I felt pretty rubbish about myself! I couldn’t run very far and certainly could not lift heavy weights.
So my journey began at 73kg after my last baby, and I managed to lose 11kg to get to a weight I felt comfortable with. I did my daily home HIIT workouts with my 8kg dumbbells.
Then I found out my dad had terminal cancer. Life moved fast, and we lost him a year later.
Last February, when he passed away, I really lost myself and my fitness get-up-and-go.
In March, I saw a post of Kevin’s and it resonated with me. I felt that I had to try to get some control back and find my motivation again.
I reached out to Tribe, got booked in, and began my once-weekly sessions along with whatever I felt like doing at home.
I wanted to lift heavier and have correct form. Over the year, I feel I’ve done really well and feel so much stronger and, with guidance, have been able to achieve this without injury or problems.
The daily step checks and nutritional guidance have been great too, helping to keep you motivated and making sure I am managing to achieve my goals!
Then there was mention of the Inshes Steps. I could not run, by the way!
However, I gave it a go, and now it’s my Sunday go-to, along with Ashley’s cardio class. Both are absolutely fantastic!
I absolutely love it as much as I love Tribe, which I now go to twice a week.
It’s been just over a year since I joined Tribe. I can lift a decent amount (deadlift 95kg, bench 40kg, squat 55kg), I can run 10km, and I can do a decent sprint. I feel healthy and fit!
I feel completely at ease going to the classes. It literally feels like an extension of family (I’m probably the mad one 😆)!
Everyone I have met has their own goals, just like me. I feel we are all so supportive and encourage each other.
We plan hikes and runs, and the best thing is that nobody minds if you have to take your kids along!
If I do not go, I do not feel right. Not only has it helped me physically, but also mentally. It’s something I do for myself — to stay fit, strong as I get older, and sane!
I’ve also roped my other half into Tribe and Steps, and he feels just the same. We have especially felt that, as we are in our forties, this is something that can only benefit us. It’s an absolute bonus that we have met so many amazing and inspirational people throughout the last year, all on their own journeys.”
