Our Monday class had the pleasure of performing at the Inverness Gaelic School Gala - Bun Sgoil Ghร idhlig Inbhir Nis - this afternoon. We even managed a display outside before the heavy rain sent us indoors! โ˜”

A huge well done to our young dancers, many of whom performed in front of such a large crowd for the very first time. The smiles, confidence and energy on display were amazing to see. What a fantastic afternoon.

Today, our young beginner dancers were delighted to perform at the event held at the in Inverness. ๐Ÿ‘ฏ

It was wonderful to see their hard work, enthusiasm, and growing confidence shine through as they shared their love of Highland dancing and Scottish tradition with the community. Delighted to support a worthy charity promoting a โ€˜safe and happy childhoodโ€™.

On Friday we attended the launch of the new interpretive panels at Northern Meeting Park.

The park is recognised as the worlds oldest purpose built Highland Games venue. The panels will help visitors and future generations better understand the remarkable heritage of Northern Meeting Park.

The day was celebrated with pipeband and Highland dance displays, mini highland games taster sessions and a sing along to โ€˜Haste Ye Backโ€™ in the refurbished historic grandstand, whilst archive material was presented in the new community pavilion.

I have been part of the NMP Stories Project for the last 2 years, collecting and researching the rich history of events held here. Drawing on old programmes, photographs, songs, newspaper reports, archived material and first hand memories, it has been a wonderful project to have been part of.

I was delighted to have been asked to write a column for the website on the history of highland dance activities held in the park.
