The GGBC Members League is in full swing and it’s been brilliant so far 🎯🔥 We’re into Round 18 now, with packed halls, tight matches, and a fantastic atmosphere every week 👏

It’s competitive, keeps everyone sharp, and most importantly—everyone’s enjoying it 😄 Great to see so many players improving their game while having a good time 💪

Two of our members travelled to compete in the Polish Open Seniors, part of the Badminton Europe senior circuit—and it turned into quite an adventure.

A last-minute flight cancellation meant scrambling to rearrange travel with a completely different route and multiple transits. Not the easiest start, but they took it all in stride!
And it was absolutely worth it 👏

🌟 Suzanne Henderson was simply outstanding, bringing home GOLD in both level doubles and mixed doubles—an incredible achievement!

👏 Steve MacGregor put in a strong performance, reaching the quarter-finals in both Men’s and Mixed Doubles.

🥉 And a big shoutout to GGBC’s friend and Highland legend John McCulloch, who secured BRONZE in both Men’s Doubles and Singles.
A fantastic effort all around. We proud of you all! 💙🏸

We have been looking at ways to improve our coaching education system and are pleased to say we have new options that will be introduced for 2026 including Fast Track, Club Connect and Coaching CPD and support.

Our fast track course this month will cover all the qualifications you need to lead a session.
🏸 Focus on the fundementals of coaching to create safe, good quality sessions.
🏸 Complete your practical sessions in one weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), perfect for individuals who struggle for several weekends. Please note candidates have mandatory booklet and online sessions following these dates.
🏸 Work with clubs to develop your coaching skills.
🏸 Have online support when you start your coaching journey.

As this focuses on the coaching aspects of each course, it is highly recommended that candidates have the ability to complete the footwork patterns and all basic shots correctly. The assessment will remain at the same standard as our usual Level 1 and 1+ courses. Tutors will not cover footwork and shot technique therefore it is recommended for candidates who are not at this level to complete our standard route of coaching development.
