A lovely summers day on Ben Nevis! A mix of snow, sleat, sun and rain. Certainly a fair few people casting off perhaps unaware as to the seasonal differences between the bottom and the top. A nice team to take up and down. Still a few patches on top, a bit to claggy to see much over the edge but still a lot of cornices holding on.

Dodging the showers successfully Jo was out with Matt who is visiting Inverness from the States. They were at Duntelchaig getting some authentic Scottish summer cragging in. They ticked off some climbs and intro to the UK’s traditional style of climbing. Leader placed protection under the constant threat of rain.

While the rain is on a quick few snaps from the last week as to what the sun revealed last week. Some shots from the Cuillin, Cairngorms and Duntelchaig. Today marks the start of meteorological summer so fingers crossed for some more of these days.

Traditional climbing skills and against the odds Laura and I stayed dry today with even sunshine at Duntelchaig. Plenty of routes and looking at gear, abseils, anchors and understanding the guidebook. Not so dry for teams on Skye for the start of metrological summer!!!!

A great with Alexandra and Anna looking at various scrambling techniques with Twin Ribs Fiachaill Directissima. Actually pretty dry in the Cairngorms although the same can’t be said out with the Corrie’s. We looked at all sorts in up and down modes. Still a few patches in the Corrie and the Goat track still holding a fair bit.

Tom was out with Greame & Ollie for a traverse. Ollie and Graham have been on a couple of prep trips with us and were able to hit the ridge with the sun on them. They made good time and enjoyed the tops and atmospheric bivvy before the weather returned to a more normal pattern.

Well it was a short summer! A little windy and showery as the heatwave started to heatwave started to give way in the Cairngorms. Hamad and I were looking at some scrambling skills/ropework this morning. Blustery but stayed largely dry but looking west it was dark skies.

Louis was out with Greame for a traverse making good time across the ridge in some glorious weather. A nice scenic bivvy to boot to and finished off with a cold beer at the Slig to finish.
