In Saturdays main event we had the Open Singles competition, sponsored by Simpsons Oil.

The competition was great throughout, with a best of 11 format throughout, and 93 entrants participating.

In the quarter finals all 4 matches went at least 10 legs, with two going the distance. Mitchell Conner beating Stevie Mitchell 6-5, Nicky Denoon beating Kyle Maclennan 6-4, Gareth Edwards beating Scott Winder 6-4 and finally Allan Stone beating John MacLean 6-5.

The semi finals got even better, Nicky beating Mitchell 6-5 with a 85.68 average and Gareth topping that with a 6-0 whitewash of Allan and a 89.29 average.

The final didn’t disappoint, with only 2 legs more than 19 darts, the best being a 12 darter by Nicky in the second leg. Gareth however pulled away after that and eventually took a brilliant 6-2 victory in the Open Singles competition and become the very first winner.

We also had a prize for Kirsty Payne, who was the furthest lady in the competition who got to the last 32 👏

In the consolation final, we had Jaimz Nolan coming away with the victory over 14 year old Marcus Beattie with an 81.16 average.

Throughout the competition there were 82 x 180s and 24 players hit a ton plus checkout, with the best of the day coming in the first drawn match by Robert Robson reeling in the big fish 🎣 with a 170 checkout.

The competition was fantastic throughout and we can’t thank everyone enough for showing on the day, and bringing their best darts to the oche to make it such a success.

Throughout the week we ran a Harrows Quadro board challenge, 9 darts to hit the highest score possible, with the highest score taking the prize pot. There were plenty entries throughout the week, nearly 200, giving a prize pot of £345 to the winner. Also, if you hit a 240 score with three darts, for the first time that day, you would also get a £20 spot prize.

The only person to hit a perfect 240, and going on to record the highest score of 405 in 9 darts was our winner, with a phenomenal effort, Nicky Denoon 🎯🎯🎯

Friday night also saw the Open Doubles competition being held, sponsored by Tain Joinery & Carpentry.

A fantastic 35 teams entered this competition, with some brilliant darts throughout the night.

The semi finals saw two very close games, with Derek Maclean and George Main taking a 5-3 win against Nicky Denoon and Stevie Mitchell, the second semi final was even closer, going to a last leg decider in which Cameron Taylor and partner Marc Henderson edged out Fran Manson and Jaimz Nolan. The final was a little more straight forward, with Derek and George doing the whitewash 5-0 to win the first Open doubles competition, Dereks second title of the night and George’s third of the week. Well played to everyone who took part.

The consolation event saw Keith Manson and Jack Shepherd edge out Scott Paton and Andy Ramsden in the first semi final and Allan Stone and Ryan Urquhart pip Allan Greig and Mark Greig to complete the finals line up. Allan and Ryan went on to win their second doubles victory of the week and Allan’s third competition win.

There were a total of 23 x 180s over the two competitions with Nikky picking up 5 of those.
