The U16 YPL Girls welcomed Gartcairn to a breezy Alness Saturday lunchtime, gaining a 2-1 victory in a closely fought contest.

The girls started the game well, taking an early lead when Millie Dean scampered away from her marker, fired a shot that the visiting keeper was only able to parry, and Alex Pettigrew supplied a composed finish from the rebound.

Gartcairn responded well and created chances, getting a deserved equaliser midway through the first half when they punished some slack home defensive play.

The girls were much improved after the interval, as both teams mounted waves of attack in an end-to-end spell.

With only seconds of normal time remaining, Ruby Main flighted a fiendish corner into the penalty area, and Cheryl Morrison slammed the ball home.

The girls showed great resilience to repel Gartcairn’s quest for a second equaliser throughout time added on.

Our U12 girls put in a superb performance at this weekend's festival, showing fantastic effort, determination and a real desire to compete in every match.

The squad worked brilliantly together, supported one another throughout and produced some excellent football from start to finish.

It was great to see the players growing in confidence, making positive decisions and putting into practice what they've been working on in training.

Their hard work and commitment were rewarded with a very successful morning, and every player should be proud of their contribution.🔵⚽👏

A fantastic morning of football from our U8s at this weekend's festival!

The girls showed great enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination throughout all their games.

It was brilliant to see their confidence growing, skills developing, and, most importantly, the smiles on their faces.

Every player worked hard, supported their teammates, and represented the club brilliantly.

Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to the parents and supporters for their continued encouragement. 🔵⚽👏

A brilliant away performance from the Under 14 Colts in a fiercely competitive league match against a very organised and determined Forres side. It took us a few minutes to properly settle into the game, but once the girls found their rhythm, they showed quality and determination from start to finish sealing a 3-0 victory for the Staggies.

Forres defended extremely well and looked dangerous on the attack throughout, which made this a hard fought contest all over the pitch. Credit to them for making it such a competitive game.

The breakthrough came in the 19th minute when Eilidh McGarry found the net to give the girls a deserved lead after a strong spell of pressure. Ross County continued to grow into the match from there, and just before half time Claire Mackenzie marked her return in the best possible way by adding a second goal half an hour in to put the Colts firmly in control going into the break.

Despite the scoreline, the second half remained competitive, with Forres continuing to battle hard and press forward whenever they could. The girls stayed disciplined and composed though, and Indi Lamont sealed the victory late on with a well placed penalty in the 70th minute to round off an excellent team performance.

An absolutely outstanding performance at centre back. Calm, dependable and rock solid all game. She gave her all and nothing was getting past her today. She led from the back brilliantly and fully deserved Player of the Match.

Massive well done to every single player. The effort, attitude and teamwork on display were excellent, and everyone played their part in a very solid 3-0 win .

Proud of the whole squad. On to the next game!

The U16 YPL girls were back in action, hosting Inverness Caledonian Thistle U16 YPL in a League Cup placing fixture, which they won 2-0.

With it being four weeks since the girls last played they were, perhaps understandably, lacking fluidity and opportunities were kept to a minimum by a resolute opposition defence.

The girls broke the deadlock before the break when Josie O’Brien delivered a teasing corner, which was turned home by Emelie Macnamara.

Second half, the girls created more and better opportunities, but were limited to just one additional goal, when Sophie Smith evaded her marker and scored with an intelligent finish.
