A few photos from the Inter Counties Fell Race in Sedbergh held on the 3rd May 26🏔️
14.5km with over 1000m of elevation… and honestly one of the hardest things I’ve ever done 😅 brutal climbs, technical descents, thick fog, legs screaming the whole way round and moments where I genuinely questioned my life choices 😂 But at the same time, these are the races that make you feel most alive.
I’m so incredibly proud to have represented the Essex Fell Team in such an amazing race 🤍 Competing alongside such strong athletes in a completely different environment to what I’m used to was both humbling and inspiring.
These races always remind me just how important Pilates has become in my running training over the years. The strength, stability, balance and control it gives me plays such a huge role when I’m out on uneven terrain for hours at a time — especially on the descents where your body is constantly working to stabilise and react quickly.
I honestly believe Pilates has helped me become a stronger, more resilient runner and has been a huge part of helping me stay consistent and relatively injury free whilst training for events like this.
People often think Pilates is just stretching or rehab, but for me it’s become one of the foundations of my strength training — not just for running faster, but for moving better and feeling stronger overall.
And yes… the final photo pretty much sums up how we all felt afterwards 😂🙌
Feeling very grateful for opportunities like this and already looking forward to the next challenge 🏃🏻♀️🏔️
