Immingham Pilgrims U11 Colts Vs Catenaccio U11
End result 3-1 to Catenaccio
While the result didn't go our way, every one of our players can hold their heads high as you never gave in until the final whistle!
The conditions were cold and windy and we went 1-0 down in the first 15 minutes, but the mentality of all of our players never let defeat enter their mind for a second and we quickly equalized as Baileys cross found Archie waiting and ready to put it away ⚽️
We then had a mishap during a corner against us and one of our players scored their first goal against our own keeper 😂 (Mistakes happen!) We quickly congratulated our player and the game recommenced but shortly after half time Catenaccio managed to bag another goal leading to the end result.
The big take aways from this game was much like how our first EVER season has gone - We came back from defeats and never let our heads drop! we've had success and losses, mistakes and laughs! as the end of the season rapidly approaches, If you'd have told the parents and coaching team that we would end this season with 2 x Tournament 2nd places, multiple wins and a shot at the challenge cup? We'd have snapped your hand off! But it was the players giving 120% on the pitch every time they pulled on our team shirt, The parents always showing huge support to every player and Mick's Saturday training telling offs, and the amount of times that I have to tie up laces (I think they do it on purpose 🤣) that made this possible!
