Scrappy game but another win 👏

Sunday the boys took on Grimsby borough Colts, which is always a tough game but always delivers a great game from both sides!

The game got underway and pilgrims looked lively from the off with some great passing from the defence up to the attackers!

The biggest battle was on both the wings involving Aiden Mcgrory and Alfie Shepard who worked really hard to keep the oppositions counter attacks to a minimal.

A few chances was made and borough came closest by rattling the post twice but the boys cleared the rebounds.
Nyle lamberton had a couple of half chance that whistled over the bar.

100% energy shown from Taylor Sinclair as usual!! Absolute nightmare for colts defence.
Showed some great signs of creating chances with making the right passes at the right time 👍

Alfie made way for Cobie Gilboy who brought some energy to the game.

Towards the end of the first half Nyle lamberton went in for a 50/50 challenge which see him come out worse off. Slight knock to the ankle.

Half time see Joshua marks come on to the left wing, Tyler marks drop into centre back and archie push out to the right wing. Fresh legs 🦵

When Josh came on he brought some creativity with a little pass and move on numerous occasions. Brilliant half from him.

Archie wieckpe was also brilliant with his passing and tracking back to win the ball back 👏

Tyler marks who has struggled for time in recent weeks played the full second half and was absolutely solid! Winning challenge after challenge. Superb!!!

Eventually pilgrims got there first goal from a low and hard corner into the mix with see a deflection take the ball into the back of the net! 1-0 pilgrims 👏

Colts kept working hard but pilgrims seemed to strong for them and they couldn’t break them down.

Pilgrims soon got their second after a bit of a mix up between colts keeper and colts defender which see Cobie pounce on a poor pass back which was an easy tap in. Right place, right time!!!
2-0 👏

Another clean sheet for Michael and his defence, Tommy Easton, Tyler marks and Ethan Allen. Great stuff boys 👍

The star man was Archie wieckpe who had asked to have a chance on the wing which he was given and took with both hands! Very positive signs attacking and getting back to help the team. Well done mate 🏆

Fantastic performance in freezing temperatures!

Firstly I’d like to say how impressed I am with how the boys dealt with the weather. It was absolutely freezing and they all marched on through it 🥶🥶

The boys had a tough test against a dragons team who they’ve played 3 times, losing 2 and winning 1.

The game got underway and it was end to end stuff. Some great battles on the pitch with some of the dragons players.
Nyle lamberton took control in midfield working his socks off, helping defend and also creating chances.

Dragons tried to push at our defence but Tommy Easton and Ethan Allen were absolutely solid which forced dragons to shoot from distance. They tested Michael harvie a couple of times but he was just too strong 💪

Pilgrims continued to battle which some superb triangle passing between Alfie Shepard, Nyle lamberton, Aiden Mcgrory and Nyle lamberton.
Dragons started to struggle when pilgrims picked up the pace and they started to control the game.

The ball was passed out from the pilgrims defence and it fell to Nyle who drove past 3-4 players to smash it home!!! 1-0 pilgrims 💥👏

Half time came which see, Taylor Sinclair and archie wieckpe make an appearance. Taylor brought some energy to the field and archie battled hard at the back as normal.

The ref awarded dragons a free kick which hit the post and pilgrims cleared 😬

After that shaky moment pilgrims continued to push on and see the game out with a couple more chances, one being Aiden mcgrory rattling the cross bar from about 15 yards out!!!

Joshua marks then came on for Taylor and he showed some really bright football. He got stuck in as soon as he came on and helped the team to hold on to the lead.

The star man was Cobie Gilboy though who was absolutely solid and covered so much ground 👏 his passing was outstanding and help create so many chances. He kept his head up and encouraged his team mates to keep going for the win. Well done 🏆

Poor performance but we’ll take the win!!

The boys started with a minutes silence to remember the ones who have fought for the country 👏

The game got underway and pilgrims wasn’t on their A game by a long stretch. Very sloppy with the ball at their feet and couldn’t get hold of the game.

Jets had a couple of chances that was kept out by Michael harvie.

After 15 minutes pilgrims picked it up a little bit and began to pressurise jets defence. Pilgrims got a throw on the left hand side which tommy Easton took whilst Aiden Mcgrory dropped into defence and covered. The long throw went into the box and a jets defender found himself heading the ball into his own net.
1 nil pilgrims 👏

The second half got underway and pilgrims started to grow into the game a lot more trying to work down the wings with Aiden and Josh.
Nyle lamberton started to get the cogs working in midfield by picking up the ball and driving forward!
10 minutes to go and Nyle wins the ball in midfield dribbles forward and strikes the ball just outside the area which smashes the cross bar and flies over!

Taylor Sinclair had a couple of good chances that he just couldn’t convert. Although he brought lots of energy to the game again 👏

The star man was Michael harvie though, keeping a clean sheet AGAIN!!!
His kicking was superb aswell, very direct and making their defence work very hard!

Great day at Bradley in our qualifying tournament.

Another tough day for the boys yesterday, playing some of the best teams in their age group but they put a good shift in and got a couple of fantastic results 👏

Game 1
First game against Louth blacks.
The boys started the tournament with fire in their belly’s and sn**ched their first goal within 15 seconds through some good passing football from KO. Nyle Lamberton played a long ball over the top for Taylor to grab an early lead 👏
Louth blacks fought back forcing Ethan Allen and Tommy Easton to work hard at the back.
Nyle lamberton was played in a deeper roll to support his defenders which he did superbly.
Aiden Mcgrory and alfie Shepard was also dropping deep to try clear the danger.
Joshua marks came on half way through for a fresh pair of legs and got up and down the right wing really well.
Louth kept pushing and had a couple of efforts superbly stopped by Schmeichel Harvie 👏
The lads held on and left the first game with a 1-0 win!!

Game 2
Second game discoveries colts
The boys have never played this team before so it was interesting to see what they was up against.
Colts got off to a good start and played some great football which pilgrims coped with well. Nyle lamberton kept trying to catch the opponents on the counter attack but colts defence seemed to be solid. Taylor Sinclair did have a couple of half chances and won us a couple of corners which was dealt with by colts keeper.
Colts kept pushing and it seemed immingham ran out of energy, as colts went 1-0 up.
Aiden Mcgrory took a slight knock and Tyler came on to replace him.
Joshua also came on to replace Alfie Shepard.
Both Joshua and Tyler worked really hard when they came on but colts just had that extra gear.
2-3 mins to go and colts sn**ched another.
Tough game but the boys worked their socks off 👏
2-0 loss 👎

Game 3
Third game boca juniors.
Third and final game and everyone could see the boys had put everything in to the first 2 games and they was starting to struggle. But they didn’t give up.
Boca came out flying and took an early lead with a great build up goal.
Pilgrims kept their heads up though like little warriors.
The midfield and Taylor started to press them and they tried a back pass to the keeper which taylor pounced on and grabbed his second goal of the day, 1-1 👏
It was end to end stuff with them hitting the cross bar and Nyle lamberton blazing a shot over.
Shortly after the equaliser Nyle lamberton found him self 12 yards from goal where he drove past 2 players superbly to get pilgrims in front with an amazing finish, 2-1 pilgrims. Joshua marks replaced Alfie again who put a great shift in all day but had ran out of energy!
Taylor had one last chance to kill the game off with a 1on1 opportunity but just couldn’t convert.
Boca continued to push pilgrims and we had to have 6 players behind the ball.
Last kick of the game boca sn**ch an equaliser which nobody could do anything about.
2-2 draw 👏

All the boys want to be super proud of themselves as they was really tough games and we didn’t look out of our comfort zone at all!
Playing in a league above and coming away with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss is a fantastic achievement so well done 👏

Star man of the day though was Nyle lamberton who won 95% of his tackles, played deeper to support his defence, kept trying the through balls to Taylor and grabbed himself a great goal 👍

So the boys have had a few tough weeks where they’ve struggled in games but Sunday they was back to their best!!!

From the starting whistle they dominated the game and kept possession really well and looked comfortable.
All the boys passing was really good, long passes and short passes.

First ten minutes the boys won a controversial penalty which Nyle Lamberton smashed home brilliantly.

Not long after Cobie Gilboy made it 2-0 with a nice little slotted finish. Just before his goal he had a superb effort just over the crossbar.

Clee Town never gave up and battled really well but Tommy Easton, Archie Wieckpe and Ethan Allen was solid at the back 💪
Clee had some brilliant efforts but they was no match for Michael Harvie who was outstanding AGAIN in goal 👏

Taylor Sinclair made it 3-0 at the end of the first half after working his socks off and linking up with his wide players fantastically.

Aiden Mcgrory finished the game off with a fantastic finish to make it 4-0 and kill the game off in the second half.

Due to power play, Clee played much of the second half with an extra man but all the boys worked hard and made sure we kept a clean sheet!

Nyle Lamberton was the star man on the day though, worked very hard and his passing was unbelievable! He controlled the midfield and covered so much ground 👏 well done!

Another solid win today against discovery jets 👏

Slightly shaky start from the boys and took them 15 minutes to get going but when they did they really did.
Taylor Sinclair came off the bench to get the first goal and calm the teams nerves.
Josh Marks then grabbed 2 more in a short space of time to really give the boys some breathing space. Great finishes ⚽️⚽️👏
Aiden mcgrory then got his name on the score sheet with a sweet little finish and then directly from a corner 🤷‍♂️👏

The boys kept there composure and was absolutely solid at the back. Tommy Easton and Archie Wieckpe didn’t let much passed them at all and any chances jets had was no match for Michael Harvie, who’s kicking was absolutely inch perfect today aswell! 👍

Second half see Taylor grab another well worked goal, brilliant brace ⚽️⚽️

But the star of the day today was Josh marks who pinched a third and got his hattrick! Worked his absolute socks off today and deserve man of the match 👏 up and down the wing helping the defence and linking up with Alfie Shepard and Taylor Sinclair superbly ⚽️⚽️⚽️ well done mate

A great performance and a well deserved 7-0 win 👏👏👏

Great to see the boys bounce back to there loss on Sunday to a 2-1 win.

The boys got off to a flying start making it 2-0 within 10 minutes.
1st goal came after a poor back pass which Alfie Shepard read extremely well and was through on goal. He kept his nerve and finished with a sublime little chip over the keeper. 👏

The second came shortly after with some great passing throughout the team when the ball came to Alfie in some space he only had eye for goal and finished brilliantly again. Keeper had no chance.

Dragons never gave up though and tested Michael harvie numerous times but he was pulling off some sublime saves 👏
They did manage to pull one back and pushed all the boys to their limits but immingham defending brilliantly with the wingers, Aiden mcgrory and Joshua marks getting back and helping the defenders out.

They managed to hold on through all the late pressure and grab a great win.

THEY ARE HUMAN!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Gutted to see the boys bring their unbeaten record to an end but even the best can be beaten.

Took the boys too long to get going today but some great chances denied by the post from Nyle lamberton and Aiden McGrory.

Taylor Sinclair also put a great shift in again today 👏

Also some lovely little passes again from Alfie Shepard 👍
Man of the match performance due to hard work and great team work. Well done 👏

Hopefully show them Wednesday what they’re capable of!!!!

Fantastic first league game of the season today boys with a great 5-0 win!!!

Solid at the back and some vital saves from Michael harvie 👏

Great man of the match performance from nyle lamberton and an absolutely fantastic solo goal where he took 3-4 players on and slotted it in the bottom right corner 👍

Superb energy from Alfie Shepard today aswell, worked his socks off up and down the wing, helping his defenders and getting forward to support his attackers. Bagged himself a lovely little goal aswell.

5-0 win, great way to start the season!!!

Some great passing throughout the team and some cheeky little finishing.

Absolutely solid at the back and if they got past Ethan, Arch or Tommy then Michael was there to keep them out!

A great solo goal from Nyle taking on 3 or 4 players and slotting into the bottom right corner 👏

Alfie was exceptional today aswell, working back and forward down the left channel!

And it was great to see Taylor linking up with his wide men to get on the score sheet 👍
