Here’s our Best in Block member Sue. She deservedly won the award this block for hard work and consistency 💪🏻👏🏼 Here’s what she had to say regarding her experience with Dillons.
Why did you join Dillons?
I’ve had memberships of various gyms as a grown up. I’ve never been into “standard” gym stuff, such as treadmills etc, and haven’t a clue how to use free weights, but I’ve always liked the classes. When I was considering joining Dillon’s, it was a choice between that or the Tennis Club. I knew exactly what I’d be getting at the tennis club with the various spin, body combat and body pump classes. Ultimately the decision landed on the fact that I just fancied trying something different. I remember Richard showing me the studio with the words, “and this is where the magic happens” - and I still had absolutely no idea what to expect!
What were the areas you needed help with?
My motivation for joining was simply to get fitter, build some strength, and if I happened to lose some weight along the way then that was a bonus.
What do you like about coming to Dillons?
It turns out that while I’ve easily achieved those initial goals, I’ve found that Dillon’s offers so much more than just a means of enabling me to be a greedy cow! As a home worker, it helps to provide a structure to my week. I’ve made some great friends and some business contacts along the way. Everyone is always so wonderfully friendly. It’s a fantastic community and one I feel privileged to be part of.
What results have you seen?
I remember trying to do a starfish crunch in the first couple of weeks of joining and suspect I looked more like an upturned beetle trying to right itself! And now, I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in.
How have these results benefited you outside of the gym?
During Covid, Richard offered one on one sessions and for a little while he and I went out running together. That gave me the confidence to start running as a regular thing and is something I still like to do once or twice a week.
