Hi Guys,

Introducing a brand new Pilates class starting Monday 31st October πŸŽƒ
Think you may have a weak core. Maybe someone has told you that you have a weak core. Don’t really want to try a Pilates class with the ladies then keep scrolling….
So will Pilates help me with my weak core ? πŸ€” is a question that I get asked a lot.

Pilates is a system of physical and mental conditioning that can enhance physical strength, flexibility, co-ordination and balance. Improve your mental focus, reduce stress and anxiety. Increase overall well-being and anyone can do it at any age.

It will help with bad posture, injuries, tight muscles and imbalances.
Pilates focuses on strengthening stabilising muscles. You work from your centre out to your limbs.
You will become stronger and more flexible with functional movement to improve sports performance.
You will be become a better runner…
You will become a better cyclist …
You will become a better tennis/golf player
The list can go on.

Sports not your thing. But you have bad posture from a sitting down job or even a standing up job. Maybe lower back pain/ shoulder pain. Tight hips/ shoulders.

Then Pilates is for you….. we don’t do Pilates to be good at Pilates (although that’s quite nice) we do it to help with all our other stuff, we take it away from the studio and into real life for life !! With stronger abdominals and stabilising muscles we walk taller. We can pick things up from the floor without hurting our back. We can even get out of bed in a morning with less or even no pain.
Especially as we age.

We will be able to use all of our muscles so we can do all the other stuff in a more efficient way.

So will Pilates help with my weak core?
I’ll let you guys decide on that.

New course is a 7 weeks and runs from 31st October until the 12th of December.

October is menopause awareness month.
In honour of on 18th October, I’ve teamed up with Registered Nutritionist Beth Hughes to offer an in-person workshop: Nutrition & Movement for Menopause.
It’s happening 1-3pm at Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash club and we’d love you to join us!
It will be a very informal session with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
The first hour will be focussed on nutrition - Beth will take you through what & how to eat to minimise symptoms and support your health through perimenopause, menopause & beyond.
The second hour will focus on fitness and movement, where I will explain the importance of different types of exercise and lead a 20min resistance training & 30min Pilates session. It will be suitable for all abilities so no need to worry if you’re not a regular exerciser, just come in comfy clothes and trainers.
All participants will also receive a goodie filled with things to help you put everything you’ve learnt on the day on to practice.
