Ilkley Golf Club One of England's top 100 courses. With a par of 69 and standard scratch of 70, this 6262 yard course is a great deal more difficult than it might first appear.

Testament to this is the fact that the course record for a professional is only 64 and was set in 2000 by honorary life member Colin Montgomerie, one of the best golfers in the world.

We’re delighted to announce that Jessie Roper will be joining our PGA Head Professional, Glen Ient, and his team from 1st August as the new Digital Marketing & Operations Assistant.

Jessie will play a key role in enhancing member communications, social media, events, promotions, and the launch of an exciting new digital platform and app, while completing a Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketing Apprenticeship with Leeds City College.

Her appointment reflects the ongoing commitment to invest in the future, growing the team, and creating meaningful opportunities that support career growth and long-term professional development.

Ilkley had a thoroughly enjoyable day at Shipley Golf Club, as the clubs re-established the friendly fixture after a three-year absence.

Shipley, led by its captain, Jamie Illingworth, were the perfect hosts throughout the day.

It was a close match with four matches halved and two very close wins for Shipley, resulting in a 4 to 2 win for the home team.

It was terrific to welcome back the Bolton & District Society of Golf Captains, who returned to play in our very popular Men’s Open, after having such an enjoyable day last year.

Following their round of golf, the group enjoyed a two-course meal and gave us superb feedback:

"We've had another wonderful Open Golf day. Ilkley Golf Club is an amazing place with such friendly people," they said.

"It was lovely to see Front of House Manager, Jaine Collington and her team again and meet the General Manager, Phil Jones. Of all the places we have been to, including top courses in Yorkshire, Ilkley's hospitality is the best.

"We have already booked for next year’s Men’s Open, as we absolutely love it here."

A great day was had by the 148 players who took part in our enormously popular Men’s Open on Monday 8th June.

After a wet start, the rain luckily kept away and the sun came out.

It was wonderful to receive feedback from the players about the course being in excellent condition.

We hope everyone enjoyed the day and we look forward to welcoming you back to Ilkley Golf Club soon!

Ilkley was delighted to host 192 Yorkshire County Members for their tournament last week.

Despite a challenging day, weather-wise, the players enjoyed a well-prepared course and were given a warm and friendly welcome from the hospitality team.

The winners were Simon Taylor and Keith Geal (Silkstone Golf Club) with 47pts, pictured with Bruce Light (YUGC President).

Runners up were Paul and Alan Burgin (Phoenix GC) with 43pts.

Third Place were David Blundell and Steve Bettany (Outlane GC) with 42pts

With the Lexus Ilkley Open now underway at the Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club (ILTSC Ltd), it was great to welcome back Britain’s number 4 singles player, Jack Pinnington Jones, for a round of golf at Ilkley Golf Club on Friday.

Like last year, he loved playing the course and it helped him relax before competing in a tournament which is now firmly established on the Men’s and Women’s tours.

An enjoyable afternoon was spent with the senior ladies of IGC on a ‘Buggy Safari’ to inspect the course.

The Ladies Committee chauffeured the ‘Goldies’, taking in the new planting and improvements on the course.

They were very impressed! Especially with the newly created ‘Glades’ on the 6th, 8th, 9th and 15th holes.

They all look forward to revisiting next year to check on progress.

Afternoon tea and fizz was enjoyed on the 10th tee, and all raised a glass to recently departed Judy Palmer, who had been looking forward to the tour.

This is the fourth year the ‘Buggy Tour’ has taken place - an IGC tradition that we hope will continue.

Many more ‘Drives and Tees’ to come 😄🛺🛺🛺🛺🛺🛺🏌️‍♀️⛳️
