🏏Week 9🏏
The 1st XI kicked off the weekend welcoming Menston to the ICC, the skipper won the toss and batted first. Another classy knock by Jesse saw him pass 50 for the third time this season, with the boys finishing on 113. Danny and Nick took two a piece, as well as Paul and Jesse taking one each in the second innings. Despite the 1st XIs best efforts the boys fell just short loosing by 4 wickets.
The 2nd XI made the short trip to Burley, and took to the field in the first innings. Josh added two wickets to his tally, with the rest of the bowling attack chipping in one each saw the home side finish on 201 from their 45. Despite Oscar batting well at three, and some late order theatrics from Ben the boys finished just short of the Burley total.
The 3rd XI traveled to Menston on Sunday and bowled first. Sion and Will bowled well for their two wickets, as well as Will and Ben for their one. Some late innings hitting saw Menston reach 255 from their 40. Both Henry and Joseph batted excellently in the chase, both passing 40 and batting alongside the skipper. Jack batting at 4 scored a sensational 136 from 103 balls and edged his side towards the total. Ben, replacing his brother at the crease, smacked 19 from 9 balls, leaving 3 runs from the final ball. Despite the mammoth chase the 3rd XI finished just two short of their target.
