๐ฅ๐ฅIlkeston Duo unlucky on the road๐ฅ๐ฅ
Scarlett Wilson squared off against Florence Kayani of Sheffield City Boxing Club. Wilson normally out the blocks quickly was a little slow to start and the sturdy Kayani took the lions share of the spoils in the first round. Wilson got off to a better start in the 2nd showing an aray of defensive skills comfortably fending of attacks from the game Kayani but not firing back like normal. In the final round Wilson started impose herself more on Sheffield Boxer, looking more like the Wilson we've become accustomed to seeing. Unfortunately it was too little too late as Kayani was awarded the win. No complaints from the ICBC team regarding the result. Wilson as always conducted herself beautifully and we know she will bounce back!! Were all proud of her efforts, well done to both boxers ๐ ๐๐
James Dove went next against James Hurst of Normanton School of Boxing. Dove went into the first a little bit too cagey. The long rangey arms of the taller Hurst did their job as Dove struggled to break down his defence. After instructions at the break Dove made adjustments and began to get closer to the home lad, landing some good scoring shots. The pair went in to the last round all square with everything to box for. Both boxers gave it their all putting a great display on for the appreciative crowd!! It was difficult to split the 2 and the judges had a tough round to score. The ilkeston man unfortunately found himself on the wrong side of a split decison. The pair were awarded the bout of the night and Doves opponent was later crowned boxer of the night!! Losing never feels good, but if you have to thats the way to do it!! Well done to both boxers, a rematch is definitely on the cards ๐๐๐
