Wednesday 12th August is our last TT this year and to finish with a bang, you can ride either as an individual or as a two-up.

This is the perfect night to give it a go for the first time. Get someone of a similar pace to ride with and do it! All the pressure is off you; come and be amazed at how much fun it is to go hard for a few minutes.

If you haven't got a partner, come along and we'll try to match you up with someone.

The Vintage Vehicle Show will be there and roads will be closed so to accommodate this, we will meet in front of South Street Surgery/opposite the Spanish Bar at the normal time of 8.30am

Join us on Friday for your last chance to do one of our Hill Climb events until AFTER CHRISTMAS! 🎅

As we're thinking of Christmas we are offering you a gift...TWO for the price of ONE!

It's the Dale Abbey Double. Sign on at The Carpenter’s Arms, 6.15-6.45pm, first rider off at 7pm.

First, it's the village side of the climb, up Potato Pit Lane, past the Cowshed to the top. Then, down the other side to race back up to The Lightning Tree on beautiful, smooth new tarmac.

Do one, do both, your choice. But if you pay for one, the other comes free. £5 for both.

After party, results, food and drink in the pub afterwards.

Please, come and join us for one of Ilkeston Cycle Club's biggest nights of the year.

The Cat & Fiddle Windmill Hill Climb.

Tonight, Friday 24th July.

The café opens in the evening especially for us, giving a beautiful setting, with the sun-drenched patio for relaxing, eating and drinking. The staff have been busy cooking up treats, let's get busy making it worth their while.

Sign-on is 6.30-6.45 with our riders then racing up the hill at one minute intervals, turning into the café grounds to finish in front of the iconic Windmill, Ilkeston's highest point.

Anyone can have a go, just sign up on the night for £5. All standards of rider and all types of bike welcome (helmet & lights compulsory).

Or come to spectate, cheer, make noise, eat cake and have a great evening.

But please, come!

Some events come and go. This one? It’s become THE event of the summer. The Windmill Hill Climb is firmly cemented in the calendar as an absolute must-do — and once you’ve experienced it, you’ll know exactly why. 🏆

🏔️ The Climb: An Iconic Finish Like No Other
Riders set off from the depot at the bottom of the hill, pushing hard before sweeping into the grounds of the café and crossing the finish line in front of the magnificent Cat & Fiddle Windmill — the highest point in the Ilkeston postcode area. 🌬️ It doesn’t get more dramatic than that.

📍 Sign-On: The Café from 6.15-6.45pm
Get signed on at the café before making your way to the start. And the best bit? After the racing, the café opens especially for us — and we have the whole place to ourselves. 🎉

That means you and your fellow riders get exclusive access to their incredible selection of baked goods. Yes, you’ve absolutely earned that cake. 🍰

👨‍👩‍👧 Brilliant for Spectators & Families
There’s a fantastic, safe viewing area where supporters can gather to watch and cheer riders as they battle their way up to that iconic finish line. A great evening out whether you’re racing or cheering! 📣

Every Hill Climb is a standalone event, but they’re also part of our Friday evening series throughout July. Do one, do them all — completely your all. No commitment required, just turn up and enjoy!

Are you looking for a top night out this Friday, 17th July?

Ilkeston Cycle Club are delighted to be hosting an exciting new event, a brand new Hill Climb race and a party on the top of the Hill afterwards. Cyclists and non-cycling friends and family are welcome.

🏔️ The Challenge: 369ft Over 1.75 Miles

Starting at the Bulls Head, Belper Lane End, this monster of a climb hits you hard and fast near the bottom — and just when you think you’re through the worst of it… it drags on. And on. And on. 😅 There’s nowhere to hide on this one.

📍 Sign-On: Tannenbaum Campsite — Top of the Hill from 6.15pm.

Head to the Tannenbaum Campsite at the summit to sign on, where you’ll find:

🅿️ Parking
🍺 A bar
🍕 Hot pizza made to order
Then make your way down to the Bulls Head at Belper Lane End for the start line. Simple!

👨‍👩‍👧 Perfect for Everyone

The campsite is set up to be a fantastic venue for spectators and families — with a safe viewing area to cheer riders as they cross the finish line. Whether you’re racing or watching, this one promises to be a brilliant occasion.

🎉 Stay for the Social!

Once the racing is done, the campsite transforms into the perfect setting for a terrific social evening while results are tallied up and then announced. Good company, great atmosphere — what more do you need?

🚴 Summer Hill Climb Series — It’s Go Time!

The wait is over — our Summer Hill Climb Series is properly underway, and we’re starting with a spicy one. Say hello to Bakehouse Lane, Ockbrook — the shortest climb in the series, but don’t let that fool you. Short means fast, and fast means there are absolutely no excuses! 😅

📍 The Climb: Bakehouse Lane, Ockbrook

The quickest of the bunch — but every second counts when you’re racing the clock. Leave it all on the lane!

📝 Sign-on: Queen’s Head Car Park from 6:30pm
🏁 First rider off: 7:00pm
💰 Entry: £5 per event
🎟️ Season Ticket: All 5 Hill Climbs for just £18 (Juniors: £3 per event / £12 season ticket)
