Our Midsummer Audax that Ilkeston Cycle Club & Spondon Cycle Club have organised the last two years have been hugely popular and well attended.

Sign-up this year has been much lower. We're hearing that one reason is that Father's Day, usually earlier in June, falls on the same day. So we've decided to offer another, much shorter route, so that anyone wanting to get back to family, can do so.

As well as the 100m & 100k route, there will be a 34 mile route, using the same café stop.

The best of it is, you don't have to specify on entering. Decide on the day if you want to.

But if you are thinking of entering, please do. We need to have an idea of numbers for the café ASAP.

Can we do a hundred hundreds on one day again?

Last year we managed it, with over 100 riders doing their own personal century, whether that was 100miles or 100km.

With just under a month to go to this year's event on June 21st, we are way off that, with just a handful signed up.

We have brand new routes this year, a new lakeside cafe and our usual fantastic start and finish venue at the Queen's Head in Ockbrook.

Feedback from those who did it said that the Midsummer Audax was one of, if not their favourite ride of their year. So come on everyone, get signed up!

It's even easier than past years to do so, all you need to do is visit the JustGiving page as below and follow the instructions. Remember, when asked for a tip to JustGiving, you can set this as £0

ICC's TIME TRIALS ARE BACK!

Starting Wednesday 3rd June and every week through to mid-August, ICC's 2026 Time Trial Series will be on a different course, starting and finishing in Kingston upon Soar.

The route is a 10 mile out and back course. Starting at The Green in Kingston it goes east towards Gotham, turning right at the mini-roundabout just before entering the village. The route follows Gypsum Way to the end, where it turns right at the roundabout towards East Leake. At the first roundabout as you enter East Leake, you will turn back on yourself and return the way you came, finishing just after turning left at The Green.

This year's series will have separate prizes for road and for TT bikes, with riders earning points for every ride, with the best 6 scores counting. This is less than last year's best 8 scores to try to encourage more riders to have a go.

£5 entry, on the night or beforehand (details to follow) or ICC members can pay an astonishing £25 for a season ticket which covers all 11 rides!

Please note DO NOT PARK IN KINGSTON! Please park in one of the lay-bys on Kegworth Road, close to the turning to Kingston

Sign-on will be at the layby on Kegworth Road 6.30-6.45 First rider off at 7pm

Our 2025 access groups on TeamApp have all now closed.

To access any of our club rides or events now you will need to request to join the 2026 groups.

To do so, follow this simple guide...

*open the app, click on ICC and on the page with several squares, click on the cog in the top right hand corner (picture 1)
*on the next page click on the tab "Access Groups" (pic 2)
*you will get a screen with groups you can join (pic 3). Select the one (or more) that you want
*you will be asked to say a few words why you wish to join (pic 4)
*once you have done that, click send. You will get a message saying that your request will be reviewed over the next few days
* our membership secretary will check that you are a 2026 member before approving your request.

PLEASE, allow us some time to deal with your request, we are all volunteers

It's that simple.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

All of ICC's events, rides and races will be moving to 2026 groups on TeamApp from 9th February.

2025's Access Groups will not be used again after Sunday 8th.

To access all of our Social Rides, TT's, Hill Climbs, Track, Social events etc, you will need to be a signed up member of Ilkeston Cycle Club for 2026 and then, when we move over, request access to the 2026 groups on TeamApp. Not yet!

We do this every year to ensure that those accessing and booking on our rides are current members, otherwise somebody could pay once and ride forever.

We don't do it as soon as the new year starts to allow you all a little leeway. Most of us will get paid this week or next, so there's your prompt to join if you haven't already. (Link to join in the comments below).

We will issue simple instructions for what to do on TeamApp when it is time
