⚽️🇬🇧ARMED FORCES WEEK🇬🇧⚽️

Today’s Walking Football session gave us the opportunity to do something a bit special to support Armed Forces Week.🫡

We had bunting and camouflage netting scattered around the ground and goalposts, plus military music playing out across the ground as everyone arrived 🎶 - it certainly helped set the scene for a great morning of football, wellbeing and friendship.⚽️✨

Despite the hot weather, we had a brilliant session before tucking into spam fritters, egg and chips served in military-style mess tins.😋

⚽️🙋‍♀️Ladies Coached Practice🙋‍♀️⚽️

For the last few weeks we’ve been offering some extra coached practice for our ladies that attend our Walking Football sessions on a Tuesday.

It’s been fantastic to see the progress they’ve made in such a short space of time. Confidence on the ball has grown, and passing and movement have improved too. We’ve even celebrated some of our ladies scoring their first goals!🤩

Our Walking Football sessions are every TUESDAY, 11am-12pm - ALL WELCOME; any age/gender/ability! Free to play with free food/refreshments and a chance to socialise afterwards at Ilkeston Town FC.

Extra ladies practice starts just before at 10:30am, with a short break before the match at 11am🕚✨

📣REMINDER – Veterans Breakfast Club is TOMORROW! 🍳☕

A couple of weeks ago, we welcomed pupils from Cotmanhay Junior School to Ilkeston Town FC as a treat after finishing their SATS exams.

After plenty of football and fun, the children got to see the🏆Derbyshire FA Senior Challenge Cup🏆trophy up close, and had a picture capturing the memory of what was a fantastic morning at the New Manor Ground!

We hope everyone had a brilliant time. It was a pleasure hosting you all ⚽️✨
