One for the footballers here đ
Here are 3 reasons you need to get on heavy training for your in game performance:
- HIGHER FORCE DEVELOPMENT RATE
Faster off the mark, turning on the ball, or reacting to loose touches. This is due to more efficient nerve firing, as your nervous system becomes more co ordinated to the muscles đ§
- STIFFER TENDONS
Tendons work together with muscle; to transfer and store elastic energy when performing a high force task. Not just explosiveness, but for endurance, better movement economy and fatigue delaying. This = more efficient jumping and explosiveness for a full 90. đ
- RESISTANCE TO INJURY
Arguably the most important in todayâs game, with hard uneven surfaces, ligament and tendon ruptures are at an all time high. Especially in football, cruciates are extra susceptible to damage due the nature and speed of the game. Building muscle/tissue around these areas creates more resilience to awkward movements and forces, as you are consistently learning to co ordinate yourself and limbs into the strongest positions to deal with said load. Think more resistance to being knocked off the ball, better heading + ball striking biomechanics and being able to keep your footing during a big challenge. đި
If youâre a competitive player looking for more output in their games, drop me a message â
Iâve had someone with a double leg break from football, back to match fitness ahead of schedule.
Football can produce brutal life long injuries, so invest in yourself outside of ball work and get your performance and longevity where you need it to be.
