Ilfracombe Vets played their away friendly fixture at Libbaton yesterday, looking to defend a 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 lead from their home match in April.

Unfortunately they lost 0-6 to give the overall win to Libbaton, but the match was enjoyed by all and played in great spirits. The course was in great condition and all were well catered for with a lovely after match meal.

As captain, Pip fined everybody who lost, so they at least raised some money for the Captain’s charities!

We've received a lot of praise this year for the plants that complement our course, from the wild flowers to the flower beds. The hydrangeas in particular have earned much appreciation, with one visitor describing the course as a mini Augusta. These hydrangeas sit in front of the fifth tee, with the impressive backdrop of the North Devon coastline. 🌸⛳️🌊🏌️‍♂️

Ilfracombe Golf Club vets took on Torquay Golf Club vets yesterday in the second leg of their semi final match in the Emerton Court. Unfortunately, drawing 2 1/2 - 2 1/2 at Ilfracombe was not enough to overturn a 4 1/2 - 1/2 loss at Torquay.

We wish Torquay Golf Club veterans the best as they progress through to the final of this prestigious event.

Congratulations to our Creasy team who reached the quarterfinals without losing a match this season! Unfortunately we didn’t quite pull it off at Staddon Heights … losing by the narrowest of margins .. 3 games to 2! Pen and her teams have battled on despite players being injured, unavailable or unwell! With only a handful of ladies to pick from they have all been heroic! Bad luck ladies .. but what a fight you put up! 👏🏌️‍♀️☀️👏🏌️‍♀️

Captain’s Day

What a fantastic Captain’s Day at Ilfracombe Golf Club yesterday! ⛳️

With 110 players taking part, the competition was incredibly well supported and raised a fantastic amount of money. As Captain, a huge thank you to everyone who entered, donated and helped make the day such a success.

The weather stayed kind to us and, although it was a little slow out on the course, that’s perhaps inevitable when we have so many players enjoying the day!

A massive thank you as well to everyone who helped organise and run the event, and to everyone who stayed for the presentation. Your support really is appreciated. Special thanks to Savona Foodservice and Ivan Clarke's Butchers for their sponsorship of the food.

Congratulations to all our winners, including the 12 main prize winners, closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive winners. Photos of the winners are attached.

Finally, if you haven’t collected your prize yet, it is waiting for you in the office.

Thank you again to everyone who took part and made it such a memorable day. 🍻⛳️
