One of our favourite drills is swimming side by side and matching each other’s stroke rate.
Not only does it help you become more aware of your own rhythm and timing, but it also encourages smoother, more consistent swimming. You’ll often find yourself naturally settling into a more efficient pace and maintaining better focus throughout the swim.
It’s a great skill for open water too, where swimming alongside others can help with confidence, pacing and group swimming awareness.
Sometimes the best way to improve isn’t by swimming harder, it’s by learning to move in harmony with the water and those around you. 🌊💙
