Looking for Swimming Lessons from September - we have all seen the terrible news regarding drownings during the recent hot spells and it emphasises the importance of Learning to Swim.

Hythe Aqua Club run swimming lessons on Tuesdays & Thursdays evenings during term time, (Tuesdays is lengths + Learner Pool & Thursdays is widths)

We are an accredited Swim England Swim School, with all teachers qualified, DBS checked and Safeguarding trained. All teachers are volunteers which helps to keep our participation costs lower.

JULY/AUGUST 2026 CLUB TRAINING CHANGES
Hythe Aqua Swimschool – last teaching session Thursday 9th July. Swimschool returns on Tuesday 8th September.

Sunday Squads – now cancelled and will return on 6th September.

Annual Club Closedown: 18th August until 1st September.

Other Training Changes:
Tues/Thurs 28th/30th July – Joint Squads 7.00 to 8.00pm, Masters 8.00 to 9.00pm
Tuesday/Thursday 4th/6th/11th & 13th August - Joint Squads 7.00 to 8.00pm & Masters 8.00 to 9.00pm

All club sessions return to normal on Tuesday 1st September

Good Luck to Jamie at the European Middle Distance Triathlon Championships on the 19th July.

Jamie recently raced at Ironman Hamburg in June, where he completed the Iron Distance (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile marathon) in an impressive 9:15:08, achieving his long-standing goal of breaking the 10-hour barrier.

Jamie now turns his attention to the European Middle Distance Triathlon Championships in Banyoles on 19th July, where he will proudly represent the Great Britain Age Group Team. Wearing the suit with pride and representing the club logo on front.

Just one week later, he’ll be back on the start line at the London T100 as he continues what has already been a memorable season of racing.

A busy couple of weeks for Hythe Aqua competitive swimmers with the licensed Hythe Aqua Club Championships at Dover Pool last Sunday, where Hythe Aqua swimmers had the opportunity to register Swim England ranked times. A big thank you to all the Hythe Aqua volunteers who helped on the day and to all our visiting officials from other Clubs who supported the event. Well done swimmers recording lots of new personal best times.

Yesterday, Hythe swimmers travelled to Faversham and competed in the Faversham Swimming Club Summer Team Gala, in the outdoor pool in Faversham. This was an excellent relaxed event, held in the outdoor pool, that was enjoyed by all participants. The weather was good and Faversham SC provided a BBQ on poolside. Hythe Aqua MASTERS AT KENT CHAMPIONSHIPS JUNE 2026.
On the longest day of the year two of Hythe Aqua’s masters swimmers went across to Tunbridge Wells for the annual Kent masters championships. Despite being one of the smallest teams there, they achieved a 100% winning success in all of their races.

First up was Peter Leigh in the 60 – 64 year age group who was a convincing winner in both the 50m and 100m Breaststroke events. He achieved new Kent records and Event Best Performances with two outstanding swims. In the morning, David Staveley (80 – 84 yr. age group) won both the 50m and 100m Backstroke by comfortable margins. However, in the afternoon he was hard pressed to just win the 50m Breaststroke & 50m Freestyle but then won the 100m Individual Medley by a comfortable margin in a new Kent Event Best Performance.

Congratulations to both swimmers on their good performances and we trust that more masters swimmers will contest the South East Region Short Course Championships in the autumn.

Hythe Masters train at Hythe Pool on Tuesday & Thursday evenings at 9.00pm. All sessions are coached by experience coaches.

HYTHE AQUA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS - Sunday 28th June 2026
Club Championships is this sunday with a warm up start of 9.00am ready to start our gala at 9.30 am. We have the pool booked until 4.00pm with 2 sessions taking place. Session 2 will be starting probably at 1.00pm depending what time session 1 finishes-we will confirm on the day.

If you have agreed to support as either an official or a poolside support please be ready to have our meeting at 9.00am. A big thank you to you all and any other parents available to help please let Tracey know.
