Hythe Aqua SC - Club Site Hythe Aqua is a community based Swim21/Clubmark Club based at Hythe Pool, South Road Hythe. Hythe Aqua offers learn to swim, competitive swimming & masters.

All coached by qualified volunteers. Hythe Aqua offers learn to swim, competitive swimming, masters, water polo (junior & senior) and synchronised swimming. The Learn to Swim section normally has a waiting list for early beginners so get your name down early. If you are ASA level 5 or above we can normally fit you in a group. The Masters section welcomes people returning to swimming, triathletes,

open water swimmers and those length swimmers who simply want to keep fit and improve their technique. Sessions cost just £4.00 and all include a swimming coach. We welcome a range of abilities and competitions are available for those who wish to participate.

The East Invicta Masters Championships - were held at Dover on Saturday 18th April. The Hythe Aqua Masters Team swam excellently bringing home a number of individual and relay medals. A small team of masters swimmers travelled to Dover on the 18th April for the EIASA masters championships where 8 local swim clubs were taking part in this annual event. Considering that they were one of the smaller masters clubs in the area, Hythe did well in coming equal 4th in the team championship – only 2 points behind the team in 3rd place – a significant improvement on last year’s result. The Hythe team collected several individual medals but the most encouraging results came from the relay teams, never the team’s strong point previously, who gained 2 first places and 2 thirds.
The most outstanding swim in the individual events came from Peter Leigh who destroyed the Kent record in the 60 – 64 yr old 50m Breaststroke by over 3 seconds. This was the highest ranking points score in the whole of the championships. Other medal winners in the team were ;- Helen Oakes with 5 golds; John Turner 4 golds; Simon Stephenson 3 golds; Mel Scott 1 gold & 1 bronze; David Staveley 1 gold, 2 silvers & 1 bronze; Graham Ling 1 silver; Nick Crew 1 bronze.

All Club sessions are cancelled tonight due to the pool liner problems getting worse. Sessions cancelled - Hythe Aqua Swimschool Widths at 6.15, Junior/Senior Squad and Masters.
Hopefully, the pool issues will be resolved on Saturday but please monitor your club emails in case the problem continues.

A Hythe Aqua Masters swimmer has been selected to represent the GBR Age-Group Team at the European Championships Middle Distance Triathlon.
Banyoles, Spain
Sunday 19 July 2026
This will be Jamies third time racing for GBR, following 3rd and 4th place finishes in his age group on previous selections.
Currently training for
• Barcelona Marathon in March
• Ironman Hamburg in June
• European Middle Distance Championships
• T100 London in July
• A final end-of-season race - TBC
The goal is to qualify for the World Triathlon Championships this year.
Competing at this level is self-funded.
Entry fees, team kit, and travel all add up.

Kent Swimming Championships - Week 2
The second weekend of the Kent Swimming Championships saw Hythe Aqua swimmers in action again at the Olympic Pool. Once again swimming really well with long course PB's being achieved.
All the Hythe Swimmers competing at the Kent Championships have taken up the option of swimming 2hr sessions during the week which has seen a great improvement in their competitive performance. Well done to all.
Special thank to the parents who managed to get the swimmers to the Olympic Pool for early morning warm up swims. Also thank you to our Coaches who gave up their time over the weekend to support the swimmers.

Swimming Teachers Required
Due to increased demand Hythe Aqua Swim School based at Hythe Pool on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (term time) is looking for volunteer swimming teachers to join our team.
We are a voluntary group focusing on providing swimming lessons from learner pool to competitive standard.
If you enjoy working with children and would like to develop new swimming teacher skills please contact us. You will be required to undergo a DBS check and an online safeguarding course.
You will be teamed up with a Swim England qualified teacher and after gaining experience the Club will support further professional training.

First weekend of the Kent County Swimming Championships at the Stratford Olympic Pool this weekend. Oscar, Hayden & Millie were in action swimming long course PB;s which was excellent.
