On Saturday 26th September, coaches Jody and Sarah are joining forces to raise money for a charity that has impacted both of their lives — **Macmillan Cancer Support**.

We held the inaugural Coastal Open Finals today. A great day of tennis, played in absolutely the best spirit. Congratulations to all the winners and well played to everyone who took part. 🎾 WALKING TENNIS CLUSTER FESTIVAL 2026 🎾

Planning for this year’s second Walking Tennis Cluster Festival began back in July, with 11 clubs across Kent showing interest in taking part.

Today, Hythe LTC was delighted to host Whitstable Tennis & Pickleball Club and Marke Wood Recreational Ground, Walmer. Unfortunately, St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe were unable to join us this year, but we hope to see them next time.

Play got underway at 12 noon followed by a lovely buffet lunch. 🎾🥪☕ Marke Wood & HLTC provided the savouries and Whitstable provided the cakes!

This was very much a social event, playing alongside and against different players throughout the afternoon. It was fantastic to see so much friendly competition, laughter and camaraderie on court.

Scores were collected for all 26 players throughout the festival, with each club’s total score then divided by the number of players representing that club.

🏆 The overall winners today were… MARKE WOOD! Followed by Hythe & Whitstable

👏 Congratulations to Marke Wood, and thank you to everyone who came along and played. Your enthusiasm made it such an enjoyable event.

A special thank you also goes to HLTC members Karen, Kathy, Lizzie and Heather who volunteered to help with the buffet.

Another great Walking Tennis event — and hopefully the start of many more cluster festivals across Kent!
