Men’s Day 2026. A breezy afternoon with a little sunshine. Five rounds of tennis, with an individual and a team competition (French Open themed teams) followed by a buffet supper. Thanks to Kathy, Anita and Hilary for the excellent supper and the men for their generous donations to our chosen charity for this year - RNLI Dover. We raised £160 for a great cause.

🎾 Walking Tennis Summer Tournament 2026 🎾

Thanks to Fiona, our HLTC Match Secretary, this is the first year Walking Tennis has been included in this year's Summer Club Tournament, and we’ve had fantastic support from our Walking Tennis players.

Three matches were played this morning, and congratulations to Csilla and John S, who have progressed to the final.

Next week, Karen & Sue P will take on Aileen & John T, with the winners earning the chance to face Csilla and John S on FINALS DAY – Sunday 19 July 💥

Although it was a little windier than we’d like this morning (bear in mind we play with the lighter orange balls !), it was great to see action on Courts 5–8.

Walking Tennis at HLTC is serious business! One club member commented on how different the players were today compared to their usual Monday social sessions — focused, determined, and with their eyes firmly on the prize! 🏆

Well done to everyone who took part, and good luck to those still competing. 😎🎾🙌

🎾 NEW TENNIS GROUP STARTING 4TH JUNE 🎾

This fun introduction to tennis is perfect for kids getting started in the sport. Sessions focus on improving balance, agility and coordination while learning the basics of tennis in a fun and supportive environment.

At this stage, it’s not about winning or losing — it’s all about building confidence, developing skills and getting to grips with the game we love. 💚
