❤️🩶 MATCH REPORT 🩶❤️

Today saw Evans Athletic head out on the road for our away trip to Troggs.

Unfortunately, it was an underwhelming start from us. We know we’re capable of much better, but Troggs were first to the majority of the first and second balls, and it wasn’t long before they played in behind us to take the lead.

To our credit, the lads rallied quickly and started to show the fight we know is in this team. Some great pressing and hard work from Jordan Spann was rewarded as he found the back of the net to bring us level at 1-1.

From there, MOTM Nathan Browne kept us in the game with some terrific saves, making sure the score remained level going into the second half.

Unfortunately, some sloppy play in the second half cost us, giving Troggs the opportunity to win a penalty, which they converted well to make it 2-1.

We created more chances late on and pushed for an equaliser, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get the result we wanted.

It’s a disappointing one, but we lift our heads and go again. We know we can be better, and we know exactly what this squad is capable of. Next week, we expect to see that response and put in the performance we know we’re capable of. ❤️🩶

Keep pushing, lads. We go again. 🔥

Ellis was chosen for his non-stop energy throughout the game. He worked tirelessly, gave everything for the team and showed exactly what it means to be a great team player💪

👏🏻 Opposition’s Man of the Match for us — Nathan Browne

Nath was absolutely outstanding between the sticks, pulling off some incredible saves to keep us in the game🧤🔥

A brilliant performance that deserved the recognition!

A tough one this week as Evans Athletic go down 2-1 against Troggs FC.

The lads gave it everything, but unfortunately we couldn’t quite get the result we were looking for.

A special mention to Jordan Spann, who never stopped pressing, and was rewarded with a goal for his efforts👏🔥

It’s a disappointing result, but plenty to take away and plenty to build on. We go again next week 💪

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, Legend on the Bench will be installing four Su***de Prevention Benches across the UK and Ireland. 💜

From Dublin to Bristol, from Scunthorpe to London, four more communities will have their own special bench, a place to sit, pause, talk, listen and hopefully find a little hope when it is needed most.

And tonight, each of those benches will shine brightly through the darkness.
