Hyde United Under-10s made a fantastic start to their MYSL league campaign with an exciting 5–3 victory over Pro Peaks.
Hyde started the game playing at a fast tempo, putting Pro Peaks under pressure and creating plenty of problems with their attacking football. The early pressure eventually paid off when Dan opened the scoring, finishing a chance created by Oscar to give Hyde a deserved 1–0 lead.
Despite Hyde’s strong start, Pro Peaks battled back and managed to pull a goal back to level the score at 1–1.
Hyde soon restored their lead with a brilliant team move. Playing out from the back, Shio found Luka, who played the ball into midfield to Luca. Luca then found Jude, who laid the ball back perfectly to Luka. Without hesitation, Luka unleashed a thunderbolt into the top corner to make it 2–1.
Hyde took their lead into half-time after an entertaining first half.
The boys started the second half in similar fashion and soon added a third goal following another excellent move from the back. Luka started the attack before finding Torin in midfield. Torin played the ball wide to Oliver, who delivered a dangerous cross into the box for Tommy to finish and make it 3–1.
After the third goal, Hyde took their foot off the gas slightly, and Pro Peaks capitalised. They scored twice in quick succession to bring the game back level at 3–3, setting up a tense finish.
However, Hyde showed great character and got themselves back into gear. A passing move between Luka and Dan at the back found Jude in midfield. Jude played the ball to Oliver, who cleverly flicked it around his defender and out to Torin. Torin then timed a perfect cross along the box for Oscar, who was there to put the ball into the back of the net and give Hyde a 4–3 lead.
Hyde weren’t finished there. Torin was the provider once again, this time from the left, picking out Jude, who produced a lovely finish to score
A brilliant first outing in the league for the boys, showing some fantastic passing football, great attacking play and, most importantly, plenty of character to respond after Pro Peaks had fought their way back into the game. A great win and an excellent start to the MYSL campaign! ⚽👏
