🏏 Team News | Hyde CC 🏏

The teams are in for another busy weekend of cricket for Hyde CC. The 1st XI make the trip to Oxton on Saturday, while the 2nd XI are at Werneth Low hosting Stockport Georgians, with both matches getting underway at 12:00pm.

Sunday sees the 3rd XI travel to Didsbury for a 2:00pm start, while the 4th XI welcome Lindow to Werneth Low, starting at 1:00pm.

Best of luck to all four sides as they look to bring home the points this weekend. 💙🏏

Hyde travel to Marple on Thursday in the T20 group fixture. With last week’s T20 match being cancelled due to bad weather, this is a must win fixture for Hyde. The game starts at 6pm 🏏 🏆

In a mixed results weekend there were two players that stood out above the rest last weekend.

⭐️ James Chew - Has adapted well to his new role as Hydes left arm opening bowler. His return of 5 wickets for 31 runs came in 14 overs including 3 maidens. Hyde lost the game but they go to Oxton this weekend looking to bounce back.

⭐️ Jahangir Hussain - Jangy continued his fine form this season with 83 off 119 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. He opened the batting in the 2nd team and the experienced campaigner setup a match winning score as the 2’s move into 3rd in the league.

Last weekend saw Hydes first team lose their first league game of the season at home against a strong Cheadle side. With a week of very wet weather, the conditions on Werneth Low didn’t complement Hydes batters as Cheadle came out worthy winners. The 2nd team continued their fine form with a comfortable win at Sale, a strong all round performance and sit 3rd in the first division. The 3rds and 4ths both suffered defeats in their Sunday fixtures.

Congratulations to one of our own… Charlie King. He took wicket number 150 for Hyde CC today against Marple CC. A great achievement for the teenager. Plenty more to come Charlie 💪🏏🏆

Today’s Cricket at Werneth Low 🏏

Cricket returns to Werneth Low this afternoon as Hyde 1st XI take on Cheadle in an important Cheshire County League fixture.

After an impressive Cheshire Cup victory last weekend, Andrew Jackson’s side will be looking to carry that momentum into league action against a strong Cheadle outfit.

Play gets underway at 12:00pm, with the bar open from 1:00pm. Supporters are encouraged to come down and enjoy an afternoon of cricket as Hyde look to make home advantage count.

This Weekend’s Fixtures 🏏

Another busy weekend ahead for Hyde CC, with all four senior sides in action.

The 1st XI are back at Werneth Low on Saturday as they host Cheadle, looking to build on last weekend’s impressive Cheshire Cup win. The 2nd XI travel to Sale for an important away fixture as they look to continue their momentum.

On Sunday, the 3rd XI are also at home, welcoming Marple to Werneth Low for a 2pm start, while the 4th XI make the trip to Bollington for their latest league encounter.

Two home games and two away fixtures make for another packed weekend of cricket. Good luck to all Hyde sides representing the club. 💙🏏

Weekend Results

A mixed weekend for Hyde CC across the teams, with plenty of cricket played despite the weather.

The 1st XI secured a place in the next round of the Cheshire Cup with an impressive 135-run (DLS) victory over Stockport Georgians on Sunday, while Saturday’s league fixture at Nantwich ended in a draw after Hyde posted 226/7 in reply to 302/7.

The 2nd XI produced a strong performance at Werneth Low, chasing down Romiley’s total to claim a five-wicket victory.

The 3rd XI were narrowly beaten by Brooklands in a rain-affected contest, falling just four runs short on DLS, while the 4th XI fixture against Cheadle Hulme was abandoned.
