Just 9 weeks until we're back in Turkey, taking photos like this again and making some more special memories.

The moments that matter, with people that matter most.

And ever since my trip to Rhodes in 2016, one of my goals has been, to not let those moments be over powered by how I feel about my own body when I look back at the pictures. There were a handful of photos from that trip that I just was not happy with at all, I felt so out of shape by my own standards, it knocked my confidence big time, it took away from the memory itself and I made a decision that I wouldn't allow it to happen again.

But it's something that I've witnessed people go through, and I know so many more do too. Maybe you have been there. Looking back through holiday pictures and saying to yourself "urgh I look disgusting there" maybe even highlighting areas on your body that they aren't happy with, and it clouds the actual joy from looking back at the moments you have created.

Your body represents your effort and actions towards it.

For me, I have always trained. However, my diet goes through phases. Back in 2016, when I wasn't happy with how I looked on holiday, I told myself, "You're in half decent shape. You can still nail a pack of cookies a day." The effort was there with my training, but the lack of effort with my diet showed itself.

That is exactly why I have continued to make a conscious effort, I did not like how it made me feel about myself, and I'm not willing to put myself in that position again.

Remember, your body represents your effort and actions towards it. If you're not taking actions that align with how you want your body to look, then you can't be shocked when you aren't comfortable with what you see.

That means 9 more weeks of increased effort from my part.

Last minute calls, urgent meetings, called into office ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿคฏ

These things happen when you're in demand within the office place, so relying purely on a couple face to face PT sessions that can easily be interfered with, just doesn't cut it.

That's one of the main reasons I have an online service, so I can still do what I enjoy doing - coaching people, helping people solve problems that I have faced, and helped others face too.

Yes, I do still train people face to face, but in a hybrid format with the online aspect still present to ensure I'm leading you through the whole journey, which is above and beyond holding your hand and counting reps (my clients know counting reps isn't my strong point). Those sessions are used to get that little bit more out of my clients, to boost their confidence and push them to intensities they may not manage by themselves and make corrections throughout our time together.

However, cancellations happen, life happens, our calenders can clash.

That's not something stress over because I know my service goes beyond the 45-60 minutes.

2๏ธโƒฃ You can save time by cooking foods in bulk, making enough to get 2-5 meals instead of just 1.

Stop putting yourself in a position where you're constantly starting over, time and time again.

I've been there myself fairly recently with my running.

It's been sporadic at best, I had no real goal, no structure, and no minimum requirements or non-negotiable targets for my week.

I would run 3 times in a week, 1 time the next, and 4 times the week after, before stopping completely for a month.

Only to find myself back at my original level with little to no progress made at all, forced to start over again.

That was until I made the decision to stop being so sporadic and put some structure in place.

Instead of putting unrealistic pressure on myself, I've set a minimum requirement of 2x runs per week.

This is manageable, and I can keep it up long-term. It will allow for consistent progression and relieves some pressure off myself - if I feel up to more, great. If not, there's no guilt or ill feelings because I hit my minimum requirements.

This approach can be applied to so much more and could just be your way out of the stop/start mentality.

Set yourself up for success. Figure out whats the minimum you need to do to succeed, if you manage tk do more, wonderful, but aslong as you hit your minimum requirements you'll keep moving forward.

Consistently good actions yield better results than sporadically great actions.

This morning, I woke up at 3.15am and could not for the life of me get back to sleep.

I lay there trying for 45 minutes, but it just wasn't happening.

Sure, I could have laid there longer and maybe fallen back asleep with an hour or so left before my alarm.

But I felt it was simply a waste of time, I could be doing other things that I may not have had time for otherwise.

So at 4.15am you would have found me seasoning some chicken and popping it in the oven, sorting some bits around the house and by 5.20am I was feeling alert and decided that was the right time to get ready and go for a run.

Had I woken up at my alarm, I wouldn't have had the time for any of that.

Now I'm not saying you have to lose sleep and go for a run before 6am.

But what I am saying is that ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ.

Both options could be considered a challenge, lay in bed struggling with the challenge of trying to force sleep, or struggling with the challenge of running your fastest paced 5k.

Whatever your challenges;

Reflection is key in helping you identify a few major factors with in different areas of your life.

Lots of people with have different review points set within their year, but often forget to actually take the time to sit down a look back at what went well and what needs improvement.

Don't underestimate the power of reviewing your previous weeks, months, quarters or years.

It helps highlight the facts, and allows you to give yourself some praise or a bit of a kick up the ass to follow up with what you set out to do.

Take it all in.

Use it to drive you further forward.

Just remember, you cannot change anything that happened in this 1st quarter, all you can do is take note, learn from it and decide how you're going to approach the next 3 months.

Go take a look back at this year so far and ask yourself:

What will you continue doing?

What will you make improvements on?

What will you change completely?

It might just be the trigger you need to excel in the coming months.
