Long post - reposting from 4 years ago. Always remembered as one of my dearest clients.
I've waited a little while to post about this gorgeous human being, absolutely love her. I first met her back in February when she'd been transferred from hospital to a local care home following complicated surgery procedures on her legs and knees, and just before her 92nd birthday 🎉🎂 the only reason for not being sent home was because of her lack of mobility. Initial objective "I just want to get back home" to attain this she needed to be able to stand and walk a few steps. Awesome we achieved this and she went home after a couple of weeks. She wanted me to continue seeing her to continue with her her rehabilitation. Her review was left when she'd made a few brilliant steps and we were all thrilled. However since then, this gorgeous woman has gone from needing assistance standing, moving and sitting, to walking the length of her house (with her frame), getting out of her seat (with very little assistance), sitting down unaided and making a step up and down to enable the navigation of room thresholds. It may not seem a lot but when you're told by professional medical practitioners that you may not walk again, this is a clear two fingers up to that 😜
Fitness isn't just for the fully abled, fitness means so much more to people in this situation. For a woman who hardly exercised most of her life she sure is going for it now. She's achieved this because she wants it. Next goal getting in and out of the car 👍
