Team news - could we finally get 90 points. 👀

1s host one of the div 6 form teams in Scaynes Hill CC and welcome back captain Bush and his PIC James from their tour last week. Gareth comes in for his 1s debut after a rich run of form in the 2s while fan favourite Aaron returns. Last week's heroes Harry and Rufus keep their place.

2s travel to Steyning CC with a chance to do the double over our opponents. 3 league debuts for Ben, Mo and Warwick whilst everyone's favourite vicar Will comes in to give us a boost. Luke, Ciaran and JP and are back too!

3s are back in action after a concession last week. Honours board dwelling Graham returns as well as Hannah and Rich. Pete will be eager to make an impact before heading off early for the evening. Can he make the difference?

Saturday Results - Gameweek 10

1’s remain top after chasing down 227 inside 27 overs. Jug avoidance from Kai as he fell agonisingly short of a ton, making 96 off 44 balls.

2’s lost by 5 wickets, a tough wicket to bat on but still felt a few runs short of a par score. Gareth chipping in with a hard-earned 45

3’s lose chasing a big total set by Burgess Hill. 2 centurions on the day for the hosts

Saturday Team News & Slam Result

1s travel up to Balcome and look to remain top of table as we enter the second half of the season. Captain fantastic is away this week so captain above-average Josh Dolan covers as skipper for the outing. A few changes to the team sheet from last week with Matty P, Will Kemp & Harry Emms all coming in for their first 1st XI game of the season.

2’s host Smallfield Manor is relegation battle with the opponents 1 place above in the league. Sean Coleby is away in Magaluf celebrating his birthday (cheers for the invite) along with Archie and Zach being unavailable. Lewis Shep, John Penny & Brodie Felton all returning 💪

3’s travel a short distance up to road for their game against Burgess Hill. BH only 1 point ahead in the table going into this game, a win here will leap frog them. Jordi and Hannah a back, with a first game of the season for Viswa!

Slam result - Strong batting performance posting 205, with two 50* retirements for Harry and James. This was enough to defend, with Plumton putting on 155 in their 20 overs. The less said about our the fielding the better… Job done, we finish in second and will find out if we make it through to the next round as best placed 2nd.

Job done, now we wait and see if we progress through

Sussex Slam is back tonight!

Last game of the group stage away vs Plumptom & East Chiltinhtom where a win in a minimum to give us a chance of proceeding to the next round as 2nd place winners.

Not too many changes from the last time out, but the biggest being the absence of Captain Julie (Tony) Andrews. Horrific injury to his bicep whilst fighting off a pack lions in the deserts of Botswana. Obviously he won the 7v1 but it has sadly ruled him out for the rest of the season - wishing him a speedy recovery ❤️

Saturday Results - Gameweek 9

- 1s scrape out another narrow win vs Plumpton & East Chiltington

- 2s fall short after setting a competitive total against Brighton Dome Mission

- 3s lose to Portslade after a solid bowling display

Kai Taylor getting the job done for the 1’s with ball a bat, supported by Harry Tobias contributing with both as well to make his first score in double digits this year. Captain fantastic also doing captain fantastic things hitting 38 and only needing to bowl 1 ball to get the final wicket to seal the win.

2’s had a spread of players contributing to their 201 runs. Captain Chris and Matt stabilising the ship in the middle and Matt reaching his first 50 of the season. Dome Mission responded with a solid 102 run opening partnership, giving the remaining batsmen a good foundation to get them over the line.

3’s had a good day with ball in hand with all 6 bowlers picking up a wicket, but the pick of the bunch was Graham Plater who got his first 5fer of the season! Unfortunately wasn’t our day with the bat as fell short by 65 runs.
