Help support Huntly-Cricket-Club as their players prepare to put in the extra yards in a marathon fundraising effort for the club this weekend.

Starting at 6:00pm on Friday 20th March, the marathon begins — and for 24 hours, they won’t stop.

Runners will take on one-hour relay slots, throughout the day and night. On Saturday morning, the junior runners will shine during a special two-hour block, bringing energy, music and a brilliant family atmosphere.

And by 6:00pm Saturday, the club will finish together back at the clubhouse, celebrating everyone who ran, supported and sponsored.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the effort can do so at: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/huntlycc

Or come along and cheer them all on.

10 YEARS, 10 STORIES - HUNTLY SPORTS TRUST
Like most folks involved in sports, the committee of Huntly Sports Trust prefer to be out and about, enjoying the great outdoors or in a nice warm gym or pool, so we're conscious we've not been too active on social media lately. But we have been busy and we've hopefully got some exciting news to share soon on expanding the sports and leisure facilities in the area.

We couldn't do what we do, without the support of organisations such as Vattenfall and the Clashndarroch Wind Farm Community Fund who supported us in the replacement of a tired old Astro turf surface at the heart of the Meadows.

Here's a little video on just one of the stories that makes up 10 years, 10 stories on the what the fund has brought to the town and surrounding community.

As part of our campaign, we’re proud to spotlight the incredible work of Huntly Sports Trust - a local organisation transforming access to ...

ROOM TO RUN 2025 - ENTRY CLOSING SOON
With one of the last few races that still offer a competitor t-shirt for all our entrants, we need to close off our entry to the 2025 Room to Run in the next few days.

So, if you're thinking of joining us on the 6th September for our fantastic 10th anniversary event, then please sign up asap - it helps us get the numbers right.

We'll have over 100 artisan food, beverage, craft and activities going on in the square - so make it a great day out for all the family - even if some of them don't run.

NEEDLESS VANDALISM
Not a great start to a Saturday morning for the youngsters who turned up for micro rugby training this morning. Second time in a month that we've had broken windows down at the Community owned Meadows Sports Pavilion. Looks like it was a concentrated effort this time, going by the number of stones found inside and around the window, so multiple culprits.

Police were down and have taken away some of the stones for analysis but additional CCTV being put in to deter further.

Not looking at this being a witch hunt or to raise blood temperatures in the town, but if you have any information, let the Huntly police know and have a word with your kids (its a big assumption it was a small group of teenagers) to make sure they don't get involved or misled by a couple of misguided individuals.
