Hi peeps I have been contacted by the person who writes the fishing reports for the Sunday Post Fishing Article asking if he could including our wee fishery in his report from time to time.
So if you would like to be added to the report from time to time please after each of your fishing trips could you fill in the google doc catch return form and include as much info as you can.
You don't need to fill in all the questions just add N/A for questions you don't want to answer but please include your email so we can let you know if you have been included in the report.
As a sponsor of the fishery GCFflies will offer up a prize each month for anyone that enters a report.

Waffle update: The comp entry price has been reduced from £10 to just £5 per entry so check out the few rules below and join in on the fun.
Ok, here is a fantastic raffle that we are calling the Christmas sweet tub fly raffle.
I have been adding a few flies every order I tie over the last few weeks and in the tub so far is 233 flies and it's not even half full.
So from now until Christmas day I will be adding even more flies until it's full and boy are there going to be a lot of flies by the time it's full.
So the raffle prize is going to be split equally between 10 winners each getting a mixed selection of lures, Buzzers, Egg flies, Mop flies and loads more.
How to enter is easy.
1) The cost will be £5 per entry with no limits to how many you can have (But if ordering from the website you are restricted to 4 entries due to me not knowing how to remove the postage cost .

Had a trip up to the fishery on Saturday bumped into David Whyte from Granite City Fishing bought some flies, (he ties and sells some great flies) and got some work done up at the fishery before I started fishing only had the three for my day but it was still nice to get out on the water.
Still trying to source 6" inch diameter lengths of double flue pipe with a couple of 45% angles to finish installing the woodburner could have been doing with it Saturday as it was only 4 degrees up at Forque, never mind soon hopefully.

First visit up at the fishery for quite a while due to back operations and broken ribs but it was great to be back up, no fishing for me as I was painting the bothy with my good friend Paul thanks for your help buddy got the job done in half the time mate.
I was also wiring the ceiling lights; I will be adding a generator and a wood burner in the coming months, making it more comfortable for everyone.
I was chatting with Bob’s son, and we have a flatbed platform to go across the burn to form a bridge between the two ponds so everyone can cross from one pond to the other without having to trek all the way up or down the length of the burn to get across, this will be done as soon as we get the hi lift and platform ready for dropping the bridge in place.
Guys I am doing my best to make the fishery better for everyone if you have any ideas for the fishery, that you think would help everyone post them on here or PM me, thanks and tight lines.

Well once more Forgue Fishery did not disappoint and it was fantastic to see so much other’s out enjoying the fishing, scenery and the weather pity the later was just a bit bright and warm for the fishing lol.
I had arranged to meet up with Sarah Watson and her 17 year old son Josh to try and give him some help to start him on his fly fishing journey.
Well let me tell you it did not take long and Josh was able to start casting and within 5 minutes he had hooked, Panicked and lost his very first rainbow on the fly it was funny to see the panic then the disappointment on his face when he lost it.
I hope Josh sticks to the fly fishing as we so need young blood into our great sport of fly fishing and hope to see Josh in the next few weeks to see if he has taken in some of the help I gave him and his casting has improved and we can get him a fish and land it this time lol.
AS for my fishing well with helping Josh and having some great chats with other’s I only landed up with 8 but who cares the fish are the extra bonus it’s the place and the atmosphere that makes my day out.
One last thing I am not a trained teacher in the art of fly fishing but I have 45 years of fly fishing experience and nothing makes me happier than helping others to learn our great sport.
So if you want some help with your fly fishing all you need to do is ask and I will be only too happy to help also if you don’t have a rod and reel I have 2 starter kits that I will happily take with me for you to use.

Well that was one hell of a good session 27 to the net for me and 14 for the son inlaw.
