Big thanks to the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation for organising such a fab end of season event - an enjoyable and impressive celebration of women’s cricket in Gloucestershire.

Thanks again to all our amazing players who turned out this season - not sure we fielded the same team twice! So many of you contributed and made it happen … T20 winners 🏆 together with impressive performances in the 35 Overs League too. So proud. Thank you all team Huntley 💪

Very proud too to pick up two individual awards for Ashers and Katie 🥇 🥇 what an achievement by you two 👏 and another for the Indoor Softball - May Kemp 👏

Also lovely to see awards given to previous Huntley players Eve Powell and Kay Moore for their new clubs 👏

We are buzzing!!!!

At this evening's Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation annual awards we have won FOUR awards!!!

Huntley Women's Cricket won the T20 League in the Forest of Dean. Captained by Lara Foot the team enjoyed an unbeaten season.

Millie Ashford won Batter of the Season for her 249 runs and an incredible strike rate of 203.16.

Katie Foot won League Bowler of the Season for her 8 wickets and economy of 3.30.

And then May Kemp was awarded Bowler of the Year for her incredible performance in the Indoor League earlier in 2024.

Congratulations to all of tonight's winners, we are so proud of you!

Congratulations to everyone again at Huntley CC this weekend … but gutted the weather intervened in our match 😔

After reaching a mad score of 280 our match was abandoned in the 4th over after tea. Big shout out to Gem Abbott for a massive innings to reach 78 and to opener Millie Ashford for her 61 in just 30 balls. 👏 💪 🏏 … all very, very exciting before the storm dampened our spirits 😔 🌦️ ⛈️

Well done and thanks to everyone on what was in the end a weird & frustrating day.

Big day next Sunday for our final match day with two games - The Hundred Hardball Plate Final against Winterbourne (11am) followed by our final T20 match against Corse & Staunton (2pm).

Congratulations to our Players of the Match.

Rich Bowman hit 139 against Corse & Staunton 3rd XI, in an innings that contained 13 Fours and 11 Sixes. Special mention too to Steve Wood for his 5-27.

Steve Powell played a captain's innings, batting for nearly two and a half hours against a quality Highnam Court attack, and getting the team oh so close to an unlikely win.

On Sunday, when Cheltenham looked to be cruising to victory, Phoebe Abbott bowled an impressive spell, finishing 2-3 off 4 overs, to slow them down.

This week, Huntley Men's 1st XI have their first opportunity to secure the League Title, if they win at home v Dymock. We hope to see as many supporters as possible up at the club to cheer the team on.

The 2nd XI travel to Bream, with still a chance to finish in the top half of the table in their debut season.

A rare Sunday off for the Women's 1st XI, as they prepare for their final 35 overs match v Golden Hill at home on Sunday 1st September, and then another double header on Sunday 8th September. The day starts with the Hundred Plate Final at 10am, against either Brislington or Winterbourne, and concludes with a T20 v Corse & Staunton at 1pm.

Here’s the match report from Sunday’s match at Frocester!! Big thanks to them for their hospitality and lovely tea. Such beautiful ground to visit.

Huge congratulations to everyone - we achieved a milestone with our highest ever runs total of 245. 3 players notched up over 30 runs - Lynne, Gem (and a huge 73 from Ashers. Bowling strong throughout with 6 different wicket takers (inc 3 by Gem) 👏 Seriously impressive team performance again.

Huntley Women's Cricket travelled to Frocester for their 2nd match in the 35 Overs League.

The team were put into bat by the hosts and it wasn’t long before the quality of the opening partnership of Millie Ashford and Emily Kibble shone through, with the former going on to make 73 from 51 balls, which included 15 fours.

Innings of 30 from Lynne McAlpine, and 34 not out, from Gemma Abbott, pushed them to a team record score of 245 for 5 from the 35 overs.

Frocester struggled to get going, under the early bowling onslaught from captain Lara Foot and Gemma Abbott, the latter taking the wickets of both openers.

Millie Ashford was as impressive in the field as she was with the bat, taking three excellent catches at cover, including one diving catch to remove Frocester captain Denise Holder.

Excellent captaincy gave opportunities to all of the bowling unit, with wickets being shared by Charlotte Hatten, Mrunalini Jagtap, Megan Atkinson and Anna Elkin before Lara Foot and Gemma Abbott returned to take the 7th & 8th wickets.

Huntley finished with a winning margin of 129 runs, and 19 points, which places them in the top half of the league.

Next up for the team is the re-arranged Hundred Cup match v Old Bristolians Westbury at home on Bank Holiday Monday at 1pm.
