Escape back to nature and come wild camping in the Long Meadow at Oak Tree Cottage. Approx 1 acre bounded by a stream and trees and surrounded by farm land. Our secluded camping meadow is suitable for singles and couples and can be booked for your exclusive use. We usually cut a couple of pitches which are large enough to comfortably accommodate up to 5 people in this lovely part of Suffolk. There

are no facilities apart from cold running water, no toilet blocks, no showers - just peace and quiet with the occasional barn owl or muntjac deer for company! Sit back, grab some wood, build a campfire and enjoy the countryside.

The long meadow is looking lovely this year. We are keeping it wild and only mowing paths for wandering campers (and deer!). Across the stream we are sowing wildflower meadow seeds to feed the bees and insects.

We are trying a little experiment, at the end of the camping meadow we are planting some raspberry canes. Not sure if they will be successful, but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to forage for breakfast from your tent? 🍓🍓

The sun is out and the tidy up has started! We are busy in the camping meadow cutting willow and planting. We regularly see deer and owls so we will continue to keep the meadow as our “wild” space.
