Better late than never!!! (A similar story to our time at Finals…)

Loughborough Purple started the week in high spirits and aimed to take Grafham Water by storm!!

The event ran a Swiss League format and left us excited for the bounce! We had some close calls which gave us hope… but sadly the bounce never came 😭

Big shoutout to who filled in for as he’d dislocated his shoulder and was unable to compete 💔

Although we may have left Grafham water with our heads in our hands to hide our tears, we left as TikTok stars (with thanks to )! We managed to put our sorrows aside, pull ourselves together and crack out the black tie outfits to celebrate our time at finals! We had a great time at Finals and it was a great achievement for the team!

Last weekend Loughborough sent two teams to the Nottingham Snakebite!!

After a wild night in Ocean on Friday, we competed in many races Saturday. Although the wind was light and shifty, both teams sailed competitively before coming in strong on the iconic duos theme on Saturday night 😎

A shorter day of racing Sunday wrapped up our weekend! Thank you to for a fab weekend as always!

A throwback to Up the Brum V at Blithfield Reservoir back in December. This event saw the usual SWA event format of individual and team racing as well as the individual freestyle competition accompanied by incredible socials throughout the weekend! Loughbough were able to secure a convincing 1st place in the team race as well as Hugh in 3rd in the individual intermediate race on day 1. Day 2 saw Kyle take 2nd place in the advanced individual on what can only be described as a submarine, with some interesting commentating from MC Taffy, as well as 3rd in the freestyle. Once again thank you to and and for putting on and hosting an incredible event. We look forward to the next event hosted by in Southampton next month. Windy Love 🌬️

BUCs Midlands Qualifiers

This weekend, our 1st and 2nd team took to the water at Notts County Sailing Club for the Midlands Team Racing Qualifiers. With very little wind forecast for Sunday, managed to get us through an amazing 91 races! Thank you Nottingham Uni for organising and hosting the event.

Both our 1st and 2nd team had a competitive day of racing, with Loughborough 1s coming 4th overall and heading straight to finals! Congratulations to the team! Also congratulations to and who will be joining us at Finals!

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Here are a few photos taken by and of the Lemming which LSSWC hosted over the 4th to the 5th of December!

It was a brilliant event hosted by our committee, but most importantly everyone in the club contributing to helping run a weekend of racing and drinking!!

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thank you to all the teams from universities across the country for coming!

FOR WINDSURFING TOMORROW!!

The forecast is looking really windy so it is very strongly advised that only intermediate to advanced windsurfers should go out.

If you feel like you do not fit this criteria, please cancel your booking on the Lboro sport app.

We will get another time to get out and practice our skills soon, don’t worry!!

Teams Looga and Barooga had a great start to the year at the Midlands Mixer which Loughborough Sailing and Windsurfing hosted this year!

Barooga managed to achieve a total of 5/6 wins which gave them a second place position!

Looga managed a 50% wind rate with 3/6 wins giving them a solid mid table position.

We also had a fantastic training day on Saturday hosted by our race captain!

Overall a successful weekend!

Don't forget to come to the sports Bazaar on the 2nd of October! We'll be there! 🕺⛵🎉
