Here at the Sports Academy we have been dedicated, since 1962, to creating an environment where all can reach their full potential in sports. In order to build the best team to do this we partnered with Hunts County SC. Since then we pride ourselves on having a team capable of providing the very highest standard of squash coaching and event management at an international standard facility. Whether

you are interested in sports coaching, the on-site gym, Injury Rehabilitation, a Personal Training session or simply want a sports massage we are here for you. We can be found at the Hemingford pavilion in the heart of the beautiful villages of Hemingford Grey and Hemingford Abbots.

This season's Cambridgeshire Junior Squash League returns next month, with entries closing on 20th September!

The league is suitable for all players who are to serve/return and play full-court rallies. Players enter the league individually and are allocated a position in one of the teams, which are organised so everyone plays matches against those of a similar level.

There will again be four fixtures across the county over the season:

- Sunday 11th October - Hunts County Squash Club
- Sunday 20th December - Comberton Squash Club
- Sunday 14th March - City of Peterborough Squash Club
- Sunday 23rd May - Hunts County Squash Club

The cost is £45/player, which includes all of the fixtures, a team t-shirt and a water bottle.

Last season was a success, with plenty of tight matches throughout, so it would be great to have a big entry again this season!

Join us for an evening of FREE Squash on Wednesday 16th September 🤩

We’re taking over all of the courts and will be running the following sessions for female squash players of all ages & abilities:

17:30-18:15: Girl’s Coaching
Our coaches will run mini-training sessions in small groups for juniors.

18:15-19:00: Women’s Coaching
Work on your game with the coaches alongside players your level. New starters welcome!

19:00-20:30: Friendly Matches & Games
Play matches with other female player & take on new opponents in a relaxed format.

We had an incredible time this week on our 2026 junior squash tour, where 12 of our youngsters travelled to Wales & the West of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The boys and girls played matches against other juniors in Leamington, Newport, Bristol and Cheltenham. As well as a mini-competition at East Glos on the final day of the trip.

There were some nail-biting matches throughout the tour and the juniors represented themselves and the club immaculately throughout!

It was a great opportunity for the players to gain some match experience, as well as for the coaches Colin, Emily and Rob to watch and coach them through the games 💪

It wasn’t just all squash though, there were other fun activities during the week such as Real Tennis, mini-golf, a relay race through Tidenham Tunnel and the obligatory tour “Spoons” competitions!

A huge thank you to the coaches and juniors of LLTSC , , Redland Green Club ,and East Glos Club Cheltenham - Tennis, Squash, Padel, Racketball for being amazing hosts.

Thank you as well to JPS Events & Exhibition , Ilux and Evolution Dome for kitting the crew out with fantastic tour gear 🤩

We’re already looking forward to 2027’s tour…

Drop in this Saturday morning from 10am for our FREE “Play Your Parent” morning!

The courts are booked and equipment is provided, so all you need to do is bring your child/children and get on court.

Our coaches will be on hand with tips, guidance and plenty of encouragement — plus, refereeing duties if required 😂

Everyone is welcome, so come down anytime between 10:00am and 1:00pm and give it a go. It’s a great chance to have some fun and enjoy a game of squash together!

And with the Hemingford Pavilion Classic Car Show also taking place on the same day, you can always check out the cars afterwards 🚙✨

We’ve had an epic week as we head to towards the end of the holidays…

Monday to Friday we had the final camp of the summer, with lots of kids getting on court and a focus of hitting shots in partnerships. It was great to have our regular players training hard and to have lots of new faces trying out squash 💪

We were then joined by the Loughborough University team, who trained with some of our local players and played team match against HCSC on Saturday evening. There were some quality matches on show and it was a great sharper before our graded competition the following day.

The HCSC Summer Graded on Sunday boasted strong draws in all the grades, attracting players from around the region and the Loughborough squad. There were some great matches across all the draws and the spectators were treated to some high-quality finals!

It was a brilliant week but we’re not done yet for the summer, as we embark on our junior tour to Wales & West of England from Monday-Thursday this week 🚌

HCSC will be taking to the wicket tomorrow evening in a friendly match against Hemingford Cricket Club 🏏

We will be heavily the underdogs but come down and support as we attempt to play cricket!

Bar opens at 5pm, match starts at 6pm and BBQ on offer throughout 🍺 🍔 🍷

We are running our HCSC Summer Graded Squash Tournament on Sunday 23rd August 💪

There will be multiple grades and all players will get a minimum of two matches. The seedings for each grade will be based on Squash Levels and all match results will also be uploaded onto the site.

It will be a great opportunity to get some match practise in preparation for the start of the squash season!

A reminder that the 'HCSC Summer Shootout' exhibition is taking place on Saturday 4th July from 15:00-16:30...

Come and watch Cambridgeshire’s top players face off in a fast-paced team match, with all the action on court one over three 20-minute periods and rolling substitutions throughout!

The Pavilion bar will be open and there will be sufficient intervals between each period of play to top up on refreshments 🍻

Great turnout at King’s College School Cambridge yesterday for the final junior Friendlies of the season!

It was great to have some new faces giving it a go, as well as some of the regular attendees 💪

Clubs from around the county were well represented with youngsters from Comberton, Hunts County, Cambridge Squash Club, King’s School, Peterborough and Ely in attendance 😃

Looking forward to next season’s events from September!
