I'm incredibly proud of my client Nathan for completing his first half-marathon!

Nathan started attending my classes in September 2024 and began personal training sessions with me at the start of this year. When he first joined, he was struggling with smoking and drinking, but since then, I've witnessed a massive shift in his approach to fitness—and to life overall. He’s become one of the most dedicated and hardworking members of the group, and it truly shows.

To prepare for his half-marathon, we combined our Monday class, regular running sessions, and a weekly PT session to steadily build him up. Now he's already on the lookout for his next challenge—and I love to see that drive!

In 2019, I went all in on Olympic Weightlifting with one goal: qualifying for the British Championships.

I trained daily, restricted calories to cut weight, and drove 700 miles a week—all in the name of progress. But instead of thriving, I burned out. When competition day came, I missed qualification by 2kg. The experience left me exhausted and completely disconnected from the gym.

I took nearly a year off before I found my way back. What changed? I went back to what I loved: CrossFit.

This taught me an important lesson—competing can be amazing, but it’s easy to lose sight of why you started. For me, it’s about enjoying the process, challenging myself, and having fun.

This is something I now pass on to my clients. I encourage them to take on challenges, but I also remind them to stay grounded in what they enjoy. Fitness should push you, but it should also fuel your passion and keep you coming back for more.
