πŸš”πŸ€ Today we had the privilege of visiting Cambridgeshire Police HQ to meet Chief Constable Simon Megicks and Detective Chief Inspector Denise Harper.

We discussed something we are incredibly passionate about at Fitness Rush Community CIC – prevention. πŸ’™

For several years, we have been supporting probationers, homeless individuals and ex-offenders through tailored exercise, qualifications and positive progression opportunities. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈπŸ“šπŸ™Œ

More recently, our focus has expanded towards early intervention with young people experiencing antisocial behaviour challenges. 🚸⚑ By providing positive role models, structure, purpose and achievable goals, we believe we can help change future outcomes before individuals become involved in the criminal justice system.

The reality is that prevention is not only better for individuals and communities, but it also represents significant savings for public services. πŸ’·πŸ“‰

As our work continues to grow, with opportunities to support people at every stage of their journey – including potential future work within prisons – we remain committed to creating pathways towards healthier, happier and more productive lives. 🌱πŸ’ͺ✨

A huge thank you to Chief Constable Simon Megicks and Detective Chief Inspector Denise Harper for taking the time to meet with us and explore how we can work together to make a lasting difference across Cambridgeshire. πŸ™

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’™πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Two women. Two incredible journeys. One powerful purpose. πŸ’™πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’™

This October, Emma and Catherine will be lacing up their running shoes πŸ‘Ÿ to take on the Great Eastern Run Half Marathon in support of The Light Project Peterborough. πŸ…βœ¨

For Emma, this challenge represents a new beginning πŸŒ…. After experiencing homelessness for much of her life, she's now choosing hope, purpose and a future filled with possibility. 🌻πŸ’ͺ

For Catherine, who has also experienced homelessness, this run celebrates strength and resilience. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή This year marks three years of sobriety πŸŽ‰πŸ™Œ – a testament to the fact that change is possible, no matter where your journey begins.

Together, they're running to raise awareness of homelessness πŸ πŸ’”, challenge the stigma 🚫🏷️, and show others that with the right support, belief and purpose, there can be a brighter future ahead. 🌈✨

Every mile they run sends a message:

πŸ’™ You are not defined by your past.
πŸ’› Recovery is possible.
πŸ’™ Hope changes lives.
πŸ’› Everyone deserves a second chance.
πŸ’™ Purpose can transform the future.

If their story has touched your heart, please consider sponsoring them. Every donation will help The Light Project Peterborough continue supporting people facing homelessness and hardship within our community. 🀝🏠✨

🚐πŸ’ͺ What a fantastic start to our Soham youth exercise delivery programme today!

We kicked things off at Soham Village College, before heading over to The Shade Primary School, and rounded off the day with our community session at the Soham Recreation Ground.

It has been brilliant to see so many young people getting involved, building confidence, being active, and creating positive connections through exercise and real-world conversations.

A huge thank you to Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, East Cambs District, and Soham Town Council for funding this incredible opportunity and investing in the health, wellbeing, and future of young people across Soham.

This is just the beginning, and we can't wait to see the impact these sessions will continue to have over the coming weeks. πŸ™Œ

✨ Another exciting and productive week for Fitness Rush! πŸšπŸ’™

🏫 Liam and Catherine delivered tailored exercise sessions, real-world conversations and mentoring opportunities to young people across nine different schools throughout Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. These sessions continue to provide a safe space for young people to build confidence, improve wellbeing and develop positive aspirations for the future. πŸ’¬πŸ’ͺ🌟

🏠 We also ventured into a new county, visiting 10 sheltered housing schemes across Bedfordshire as we continue to expand our reach and explore new opportunities to support older adults to remain active, independent and connected within their communities. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸ€β€οΈ

🌈 Alongside this, we continued our regular delivery at The Light Project and Fairview Court, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and residents within sheltered housing through meaningful, tailored exercise provision. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ™Œ

πŸ—ΊοΈ Behind the scenes, Catherine and Liam spent time meeting with communities to better understand the support they need, while also identifying other organisations and partners that could help strengthen the opportunities available to local people. πŸ€πŸ“‹πŸ’

πŸšπŸ’» The new mobile education facility is now only weeks away from completion, and we cannot wait to unveil it when the time is right! This exciting addition will allow us to take qualifications, digital support and educational opportunities directly into the heart of our communities. πŸŽ“πŸ“±πŸŒ

πŸ’™ These are exciting times for Fitness Rush and everyone involved, especially the communities we are privileged to serve.

πŸ‘€ And the best part? There is even more exciting news in the pipeline that we'll be sharing very soon...

🚐πŸ’ͺ Fitness Rush Community CIC continues to grow its reach across the region!

🏑 Yesterday, we visited Bedford for the first time, meeting with sheltered housing providers and exploring opportunities to bring our tailored exercise and wellbeing programmes to older adults across the area.

πŸŽ“ Today, our focus shifted to Peterborough, where we have been expanding our reach across secondary schools and colleges, discussing how we can support young people through physical activity, confidence building, positive engagement and future career pathways.

🌟 It's exciting to see new communities opening their doors to Fitness Rush as we continue our mission to improve health, wellbeing and opportunities for people of all ages.
