As part of Drowning Prevention Week, we're supporting the Royal Life Saving Society UK's Water Safety Code:

💙 Recent tragic incidents involving children and open water have deeply affected communities across the country, and our hearts go out to everyone impacted.

With summer approaching and more families spending time near pools, lakes, rivers, and beaches ☀️🌊, it’s a timely reminder of just how important water safety really is.

Even confident swimmers can get into difficulty, and accidents can happen far quicker than many people realise.

At Hungerford Leisure Centre, we’re passionate about helping children and adults build confidence in the water while learning vital safety skills that could one day save a life 🏊

A few important reminders:
👀 Always keep a close eye on children around water
🏊 Encourage swimming with others, never alone
🌊 Be cautious of cold water, strong currents, and hidden hazards
🚫 Never jump into water you don’t know
