Bernadette Heys School of Theatre Dance has been a well established school for over 45 years. With a dedicated team of staff each student is taught to the best of their ability. Classes are available for children from 2+ in ballet, tap, jazz & theatre craft. If you would like any information on any of our classes then please get in touch. Our recent mini exam session had some exceptional results and we couldn't be prouder of the students, who alongside working towards our summer show, put in so much practice to gain their exams. They have now received their reports and the examiner commented how well presented and prepared the students were and how she enjoyed her day at the studio.

Our regular exam session will take place in the autumn term, when more students will be progressing through their grades in our core subjects: Ballet, Tap, Theatre Craft and Contemporary Jazz.

🌞 Heatwave update:

Please remember your water bottle and uniforms can be shorts and tops instead of leotards and tights.

We will have plenty of water breaks and are keeping the studio as cool as possible.

There are lots of ways we can still work and learn whilst keeping safe in the heat.

Congratulations Amelia, who has been nominated for the IDTA junior theatre awards after passing her Grade 2 Ballet with 92 distinction. Amelia is the youngest in her class and works tirelessly every lesson. Her focus & work ethic are incredible and we are so proud of her. We are excited to see what the future holds for this mini dancer.

Eve has been cast as a Swan in English Youth Ballet's production of Swan Lake in Manchester this June. Eve joins a cast of 100 young dancers after successfully auditioning earlier in the year. Lots of enthusiasm and helpful students in this mornings Prep Class. We worked on rotating our points by making sure we could see their gold star stickers and then we practiced keeping our jumps on our spots whilst keeping our posture tall. Love using our imaginations and today we were popping out of the toaster without burning our noses by leaning forward when we bend 🤣 proud of all the hard work every class is putting in at the minute for our upcoming show too ⭐

We had a lovely mini exam session on Thursday. All our dancers put 100% effort in and came out of the room with smiles on their faces. Thank you to our IDTA examiner Miss Heywood for making the students relaxed and confident. We are so proud of you all.
