Dancing is a small part of attending a dance class, it's about creating a safe space for each child. Our school is a second home for my families, a place where children and parents want to spend time together, to feel relaxed and happy and feel part of something special. Silk is a part of the local community, joining in and arranging local events to give back as much

as we possibly can. When people think of Silk they not only think of us as a dance school but as an ambassador of the local community. We train dancers to the best of their ability, we train them to work hard both physically and mentally, to always believe in themselves and be the best that they can be. Along with our parents we will encourage our children to plough through when things get tough and keep going, never give up and be the best version of themselves. We will get through the hard times together and celebrate the wins together. We are a family and so a win for the individual is a win for Silk. We raise a family, a tribe! Ohana!!!!

Where confidence takes centre stage! 🌟

Our Development I & II classes (ages 6–8) combine ballet, tap, acro and musical theatre to help young performers build technique, creativity and stage presence... all while having fun and making friends.

What is the cost of NOT dancing?🤔

Most adults can tell you exactly what dance lessons cost.✔️

But have you ever thought about what it costs when a child never dances at all?

The confidence they never build.
The friendships they never make.
The discipline they never learn.
The resilience they never develop after getting back up from mistakes.
The memories they never create on stage.

Ask a room full of adults what they wish they had done growing up, and you'll often hear the same answer:
"I wish I'd danced."

Not because they wanted to become professional dancers.
Because dance teaches so much more than steps.

It teaches confidence, teamwork, creativity, commitment, communication, musicality, and the courage to perform in front of others.

✨ Silk Showcase is this Sunday! ✨

The excitement is building as all our dancers prepare to take to the stage at The Venue, Stocksbridge for two fantastic performances at 2:30pm and 4:30pm. Both shows are now completely sold out – thank you for your amazing support!

Our cabaret-style seating means audiences can relax at their tables and enjoy the show, with three VIP tables taking pride of place at the front of the room.

Before each performance, be sure to visit our foyer fundraising stalls, where we'll be raising money for costumes for future Silk shows.

There'll be:
🍭 Candy floss
🧁 Bake sale
🎟️ Raffle
📸 Photo booth/photoshoot
🌈 Dancer-made loom bands and bracelets

We can't wait to welcome everyone for an afternoon of incredible performances and community spirit. Here's to a wonderful Showcase! ✨

We have been using little dots to help our younger dancers perfect their sautés in class 🥰

We take pride in precision and in mastering the basics, because every leap, turn and flourish begins with a strong technical base.
