🎉 THE FIRST SIGNS ARE UP AT SKELMANTHORPE CENTRAL BOWLING CLUB! 🎉

Another exciting step forward for the club today as the first of our new signs and sponsorship boards went up! 💙🤍

First up is our new entrance sign, followed by the big welcome sign by the Greenkeeper’s shed – both really making a difference to the look of the club.

We’ve also installed our first two sponsor boards, proudly supporting:

🏆 ENID HORN PAIRS COMPETITION 2026 🏆

What a fantastic day of bowling today for our Enid Horn Pairs Competition!

We had 10 pairs taking part, with some absolutely brilliant bowling and incredibly close games throughout the day.

After some hard-fought matches, congratulations go to our winners:

🥇 Richard Auty & Mick Cartlidge

who defeated

🥈 Kevin Booth & Chris Jagger

in a very competitive final.

👏 Well played to everyone who took part and helped make the competition such an enjoyable day.

A huge thank you also goes to everyone who supported the event, helped out and contributed throughout the day. The club raised well over £200, making it a successful day both on and off the green.

🏆 ANNETTE BROOK MEMORIAL 2026 🏆

Today saw the Annette Brook Memorial, a fantastic day where each bowler was paired with a non-bowler for a fun and competitive afternoon of bowls.

The competition was played in a round-robin format, with 18 bowlers taking part, split into groups of four and five.

Before the competition got underway, Brett Littlewood gave some tuition to all the non-bowlers — and it obviously worked! There was some excellent bowling throughout the day, with the non-bowlers really getting into the spirit of the competition.

Group 2:
Brett Littlewood & Katie Bond — Annette’s granddaughter ❤️

The two group winners then went through to contest the final.

There was also plenty of food throughout the day, with burgers, sausages and bacon butties keeping everyone well fed!

Most importantly, it was a brilliant day played in a great atmosphere and a fitting way to remember Annette Brook.

A great day was had by all — and a wonderful tribute to Annette. ❤️

What a fantastic day at the Derrick Radley Cup!

With 17 players competing across four round-robin groups, there was some excellent bowling on display throughout the day. The group winners were Kevin Booth (after a playoff with Richard Auty), Steve Scaramuzza, Dean Kent and Andy “Macca” McLauchlan.

In the semi-finals, Macca overcame Kevin, while Scarra edged past Dean in a closely fought contest. The final was a superb match, with Macca narrowly beating Scarra to lift the trophy.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success. The food was fantastic, and thanks go to everyone who donated cakes and treats, as well as those who helped with the bacon sandwiches, sausage sandwiches and burgers, which all went down a treat.

We were lucky with the weather, enjoyed some brilliant bowling, plenty of laughs and great company throughout the day. Thanks again to everyone who attended and helped make it such a memorable occasion.
